Post-Game Talk: A game so bad, it didn't get called for gloving the puck. Jests lose.

On another note, the place is dead quiet. Even when we were losing last year the place was loud. Now it's quiet unless we're winning. Lost the reputation of loudest arena in the league pretty quickly.[/QUOTE]
The Jets have played way better hockey on the road this year, and its not even close. They seem really tentative and allow the other team to dictate play at home.

Flat game. Pavelec was very good, and...

Oh well. 4W 2L in the last six. Keep that up, and the post season beckons. Really hope Wheeler and Peloso are OK.

Mark Lee turned out to be the perfect voice to call that game. What a snoozefest. A little concerning it was another poor home effort. Oh well, back and at them in sunny Florida next week.

Pavs played well. Perry Pearn needs to take a flame-thrower to the PP and re-create it from ground up. We need more east-west and not continue north-south thinking on the PP. Most of the point shots aren't getting through.

PK looked good and the PP was getting better. They have 2 days off now to work on it. They NEED to win atleast 2 out of the next 3 IMO to stay in the race. Lets get ready for Florida

I'm hoping that this game was just a wrinkle in the game plan. It's not time to hit the panic button yet, but they can't afford to take too many more nights off.

Outside of the first we didn't show up.

Pavs was good as was Tangradi and Kane, but other than that the rest of the team was sub par.

You thought Kane was good? I thought he didn't show up at all. All those times where he got the puck and would normally start charging towards the offensive zone, he passed it off instead today, with maybe one or two exceptions.

On another note, the place is dead quiet. Even when we were losing last year the place was loud. Now it's quiet unless we're winning. Lost the reputation of loudest arena in the league pretty quickly.

This game we were pretty quiet yeah, but there wasn't much to cheer about at all. Also afternoon games tend to be quieter by a fair margin. Otherwise, I think you're quite wrong, we are loud even during losses.

A win, wouldve rolled the afternoon beers into a good night, now im left angry. Were the boys drinking last night?

The streaks always end, but it sure dropped off suddenly. Oh well, back on the road and hopefully back on track.

At first, I was ****ing pissed at that lazy effort but then I noticed that some guys here had Ribeiro in their fantasy pools, and I gotta say I'm feeling pretty good about that game now.

Stuarts penalty was absolutely stupid. You just don't take a penalty like that at the end of a game. Ovechkin played him like a fiddle. He knew exactly how to push his buttons.

Well, I figured this was going to be a trap game. Sure enough, Jets fell into the trap. A pretty decent 1st period, and it looked like they figured it would be a nice, cozy cruise to victory. Came out flat in the 2nd, and the first goal coupled with Wheeler's injury seemed to take all the wind out of their sails.

Ok, I'll start with the good. Grant Clitsome had perhaps his best game in a Jets uniform. One of the few Jets consistently stepping up and initiating contact, some great passes, including a few beauty no-lookers at the point. Also thought Pavelec was excellent overall. Nothing much he could've done on any of those three goals, and made several outstanding saves. Oh, and Peluso destroying Volpatti was pretty sweet.

The bad was basically everything else, but I'll highlight the absolute worst:

-Bryan Little and Nik Antropov were both dreadful. Just pathetic and uninspired play from both of them, did nothing when the puck was on their stick. Wellwood-esque performances from both of them.

-Probably Bogo's worst game since returning from injury. Several brutal passes and some really sloppy play in front of the Jets net. Nice hit on Perrault, but really I expect much better from him.

-I'll give Kane credit for generating some offense, but his passing was awful. He seemed to be moving away from his blind passes to nobody in particular, but today he was just slinging it around mindlessly.

-I'm getting tired of Thorburn and his general uselessness. It wasn't even the deflection (which was absolutely brutal, don't ****ing curtsy on a shot from inside the dots, go all out or get out of the damn way). It's the fact that he consistently does almost nothing. He doesn't even add any consistent puck winning ability along the boards. He's getting next to no icetime at this point, I think the next step is to just get him out of the lineup. EDIT: Ok, with Peluso injured, that may not be feasible.

-Powerplay manages to (gasp!) actually sustain some pressure and direct shots on goal, but absolutely zero presence in front of Holtby. Made some potentially dangerous shots a walk in the park for him.

It's hard to expect a team to be on every game, but the Jets can't afford to play this sucky at this point of the season.

Oh, and just when I was really starting to like Peluso's game, he's likely out for 4-6 with a broken hand. :(

He turned around and layed the shoulder into him. 99% of the time, he's gone with a coincidental minor and he's taking Mark Stuart with him. A real fiddle player, that caveman Ovi is.

Antropov really annoys me of late. In the game the other night, he was on a two-on-one with Buff(I think) and he passes into his skates. Then, tonight, he receives a good pass on a two on one and he juggles the puck and misses the net.:shakehead

I realize he isn't out there just to provide offense but he needs to contribute more. Jets may have to bring him back for lack of better options on the farm next year.

Clitsome was ripped in the postgame by Healy and rightfully so. Two goals scored by the Caps were partially his fault.

I'm sure everyone was crapping on Hainsey for the blown tire on the Ribeiro goal, what on earth was Zach doing though? Taking Brouwer and ignoring that Ribs was right there in the slot to bury the rebound. Nice hit on Perrault, but really I expect much better from him.

Granted, Clitsome has been playing better as of late but HE was the one who should have picked up Ribeiro. Bogo wasn't even on the ice. Clitsome also closed his eyes and skated away from that second flubber goal instead of stepping up and trying to block it.

And yes, Hinsey does deserve criticism on that goal. It wasn't just a bad luck / blown tire play....he tried catching the puck instead of playing the man and using his stick.

I watched the fight video again and I don't really see where Peluso got hurt. Maybe he hurt his hand, but he was high fiving fans on his way off. Or maybe he just didn't realize it until the adrenaline wore off.

Here it is

Only thing more annoying than the loss was listening to the CBC announcer butcher Bogosian's name. Galley kept saying it right and the other guy (i don't care to know his name) would say it wrong right afterward.

Thorburn and Tangradi looked slightly better... but in a 3 - 0 loss that doesn't mean anything.

Bring on Mittens and give Wellwood a "f@&k or walk" game to get back in the line up.

I want Buff and Bogo on the point for the PP.
2 Big shots.

You're absolutely right, it was Clitsome. Thought it was Bogo, my bad. And it wasn't Brouwer either as I originally said, it was Ovechkin cutting in front after the original shot. I somehow thought Brouwer was moving in as the 3rd guy.

Not saying Hainsey doesn't deserve blame on that goal, but there were two f'in Jets players that could've take Ribeiro out, and they just stood there completely dumbstruck.

On the second goal, Clitsome was taking his responsibility on the weakside, that's Thorburn's job to pick up the winger off the draw.

That actually is the correct pronunciation.

He's Armenian and they pronounce it "Bo go zee in"

Too bad about Peluso. Hope he is not out too long. The man sure can fight. I'm thinking he has found a home in Winnipeg.

If that is the case why do none of his teammates, his coach or any announcers call him that. If people were mis-pronouncing my name for 2 years I would mention it.

Either way you have 2 announcers saying it differently in the same broadcast repeatedly. One of them is wrong, so someone should have corrected something!
