Based on what?

I think the sport continues to grow financially and thus the attention to strategy and development will be on an upward trajectory.

I haven't conducted any studies, but I'm confident you'd find a correlation between the accuracy of scouting congruent with the growth of the sport.

That does it.

I'm opening a casino and inviting everyone from hfCanucks on opening night.

If I have to put up with people who have no idea how statistics or probability work, at least I can get rich doing it.

What a useless post. If you dont agree let’s hear why.

You picked the smallest sample size possible to prove your point. Check the “bust ratio” from the entire 90’s for top 10 picks. (HockeyDB even has the draft stats at the bottom of each draft year, including % to play NHL, Average # Of games, etc)

A point which in itself could be argued doesn’t make sense because as talent evaluation has evolved so has player development. The gap between the best players and the worst is not as large.

Really excited to see what he can do at Harvard this year. Is he closer to Jordan Subban or Charlie McAvoy? Time will tell.

Does Rathbone actually want to play hockey? (that would be a good start)

He's currently playing in Europe. He isn't good, obviously, but there's no sign he doesn't want to play, and in hindsight it looks like he made a good choice in sticking around for his degree (at least I assume he got his degree).

All hail Judd Brackett! Rathbone is another U.S. kid who probably should have gone higher in the draft if he'd played in the USHL instead of heading back to high school. Based on how he looked at successive Prospect Development Camps, I'd say he's a good bet to be signed when he's done at Harvard. You can't ask for much more from a late-round draft pick.

Yeah his agility is really impressive, I don't think he's gotten even close to beat 1 on 1 yet from what I've seen and he loves to go for the big hit.
