You're being unfair to Brad Richards. Dude was essentially moving around on a wheelchair on the ice in 2015 but he could think the game three times faster than Lafreniere has showed me he could at this level.

He has had 3 years and offseasons to work. We can't blame everyone except the person most in control. I want Laf to be great but games are not where you work on skating, puck handling nor conditioning. Laf needs to dedicate himself to putting in extra work beyond even team practices. If he wants significant improvement he will have to put in significant work. I hope he does do it. He should be doing it imo.

Rempe has a future with this team somehow some way but Lafreniere is not getting that arbitrator ruled production based $4.85M contract in 2025. We can't afford that or move out important salaried players to fit that cap in if this is the player he is.
