It's always "had some fortunate breaks" with visiting goalies with Hayward.

Andreoff and McNabb have not impressed me at all.

Jones has been quite busy and looking like a great backup option should anything happen to Quick. Think Berube gets to play the latter half of the game? And yeah, Jones was fairly fortunate because that puck was inches from getting through, but you know if Andersen made that stop Hayward would be praising his athleticism.

For SURE Jones lucked out, he got had, it happens... He didn't give up though and it paid off as Heatley failed to do anything worthwhile with the opportunity. He did a fairly good job getting his skate back to the post, but I don't think he even completely got it and really probably could have been beat even along the ice had Heatley handled it well. (Not being overly critical of Jones here, its hard, mistakes happen... hence goals occasionally)


I think we see Jones the whole game. He hasn't switched out a lot and I think they are getting him ready to start the season.

After suffering thru a fiasco of the Eagles game and making the mistake of then turning on the Flyers game (Devils outshooting the Flyers 35-7 after 2 periods) and turning that off I got to hear most of the 1st period of the Kings game over the computer on the radio feed.
JOnes sounds like he's having a s trong game, that's a good sign, esp if Quick isn't 100% , having missed so much of the preseason. Only game on TV for me back east will be the last preseason one, which I'm looking forward to.
