NA will advance if they win in regulation because their GD would already be better than Sweden's. Russia passing them would only put them in 2nd and eliminate Sweden.
 
I know they both like carrying the puck, but I would love to see Gaudreau and McDavid together at ES for a few shifts.

Also, I feel like MacKinnon with McD and Mathews would be amazing.

NA wouldn't advance with 2 regulation wins and better goal differential than Sweden?
 
I get people being down on Eichel's performance here, but the amount of people i see making broad based conclusion on him as a player because of this tournament is crazy.

Besides he has an assist tonight anyway.

Anyone who watches that line play and doesnt recognize the monumental impact McDavid is having on his linemates is the ones watching the game with a bias.

The kid is playing some of the best hockey I've ever seen. Nobody has an answer for his speed and puck skills on the other teams to this point, and because of this he's being double defended and even triple defended, opening up all kinds of room for Matthews and Scheifele when they get the puck.


Now, that's not to say they dont deserve any credit for finishing the chance McDavid is setting them up with. They're doing a solid job at that and are putting themselves in the right places. But if it weren't for McDavids play that line wouldn't be effective to the level it has been.

You're not watching the play.

You're not watching what Schief and Matthews are doing on the two way play, what they are doing in the dirty areas etc.

You also ignore how Matthews played the exact same way with every line he's played on in this tournament lol.

Just let it go.
 
Wish i wasn't stuck at work and all the Sportsnet radio feeds are boring baseball.

It doesn't take a genius to realize anyone would be playing second fiddle on McDavid's line atm, let alone a guy like Matthews who's been huge beneficiary.
