Koivu probably was the worst player on the line though, I remember at least 3 bad plays with that final 3 on 1 as the crown jewel.

Well, Koivu also got some crucial back checks in. I think you might be overly negative as you don't want to see them as the 1st line - and there I pretty much agree with you.

Back checks aren't plays with the puck. Back checks are something 4th line centers can do too. Play with the puck is what makes a first liner.

Back checking is cool and all but you don't even have to back check if you don't make a terrible pass and give opponent possession.

How about connecting a damn pass, not icing the puck every second minute, not leaving Finns all alone in front of the net and not allowing oddman rushes?

Yeah well, we had a couple of almost chances - they are bound to come in any relatively tight game. Maybe a couple of bit sloppy pucks too which is rare for Sweden. What I would recommend to Tre Kronor is harder and quicker forecheck against our inexperienced defence, but I guess that's never your natural style, you cautious buggers...

THis is a must-win game for Suomi, so perhaps I can understand why they are more motivated, but for the love of God - Sweden HAS to play better than this.

Luckily I care more about my teams in the NHL doing good, than I do about this gimmick tournament.

I can't wait for regular NHL games to watch and wake up every morning checking nhl.com for results.

Well, this is not any random team we are playing. All lines need to be super hard in the defence too. I suspect Marjamäki is probably bit afraid about Laine's and Aho's defensive abilities and doesn't give their line more prominent position. Too cautious coaching if so.

That power play they had possession of the puck so long. It looked like they were playing to have a good shooting opportunity for Laine. Then when the perfect opportunity came with the opposing box in a good situation, clear lane etc., Vatanen shot himself, straight at the guy who was blocking.

Yup, hilarious criticism. Karlsson has been physical and has done his job in front of the net. Karlsson is the weak link he wants to pick out on the Swedish team?

Chelios is jelly he could never play like Karlsson does.

Backlund Berglund is a bad example it made a huge difference for Lando and Soda. But yeah I agree

Ekholm had a good first game against this tournaments best fw group and now a shaky 1st period against the Finns. Stralman and Hammer were also very good last game.

The entire team has been shaky this period, similar to the 1st period against Russia.
