I mean, we all saw it coming. US management really didn't set them up for a puncher's chance. They were forced to play into Tort's style, and while that may look nice and intimidating, you can't seriously have expected them to be able to grind out a low-scoring affair against Team Canada.

Hopefully they (US Hockey management) learn from this more than anything.

You think the players watch the intermission shows? lol
Well I think all of them know what the former players said considering Oshie answered a question about it yesterday.

That's... ummm... okay? They played like trash. Why do they deserve back up?
That doesn't make it right to jump on them. The whole world is trashing them it doesn't help when your heroes are also trashing on you.

Grit isn't a bad thing...But thinking of beating Canada while relying primarily on grit was a dumb plan.

No reason to expect anything less. USA could've had a pretty good team but they made garbage decision after garbage decision and chose to go with 'grit' over skill. Not to mention they chose Torts as coach, who is a total tool. They need a serious revamp in their brain trust for the next World Cup/Olympics if they're going to be competitive. Faulk, Shattenkirk, Kessel (Who ultimately wouldn't have been on the roster anyway due to injury), Johnson, and others should not have been snubbed.

I thought the USA looked good overall. They were prepared but the first goal was a bad break and the Quick blew it.

The strange thing is, as much as Canada crushed the US, this was actually a mediocre game for Canada. Sloppy and lacklustre after the first. No attention to detail.

Don't be too sad Americans. You have a lot of great players in the pipeline and losing today may be the best thing in the long run for your program (how not to build a national team).

The US will be scary good the next best on best tournament. I'm sure this is Team USA's version of what Hockey Canada went through following Torino.

US will be fine, just keep that blowhard idiot, Tortorella away from those guys. Probably the worst coach ever to win a cup.
