I don't get why Quick wasn't pulled, nor do I understand why he got the start. He has been absolutely BRUTAL at the international level. It's clear he has difficulty on the international stage. You have another superstar goaltender on the bench with big game experience. Put him in net. USA isn't winning with Quick.
 
USA might have more shots but they've been harmless. Though they did have a good chance a second ago. Canada is getting grade A chances when they do.

Maybe they can all sit for the national anthem forcing Torts to have to sit the entire team.
 
The only chance USA has to get back in this is to play more rough and get Canada off their game. This could also lead to penalties and make things worse... we'll see what happens.

I get that everyone hates Torts.
But didn't Burke + Lombardi give him the team?

he's playing with the players he's got. It's not like he's got the BEST team possible and making stupid mistakes.
 
The US team easily has the worst blue line of the tournament. I haven't seen a team give up as many outnumbered chances as they have, not to mention their soft play around their own net. Quick isn't helping matters, but neither is anyone else. Whoever is between the pipes wouldn't matter.
 
I did said it before Jack Johnson and Dustin Byfuglien should never ever represent USA. Both of them can't play D.

Finland, Russia, and Czechia are worse on the blue line IMO

You don't win when you sacrifice grit for skill . If you have some grit combined with skill it can help you but sacrificing skill for grit is wrong every time.
