I find it absolutely mind boggling that again the only line that has any sort of pressure is the sedin line. Look at the 2nd and 3rd line, their is SOO much talent, but they are doing absolutely nothing.

This sweden team needs more than old ass sedins and erikkson carrying every single game.

Looked like no one cared about the game. 0 Intensity.
What are you talking about?

At least the other lines applied some kind of pressure, but what it comes down to is the Bäckström line, they're supposed to be the other offensive line. The other two lines are defensive minded lines.

The Bäckström line can't break the board cycle, they don't have good chemistry. That's the problem.

Am I watching the game with blue & yellow tinted glasses? I thought that Sweden was clearly the better team, despite neither team creating any great scoring chances.

not mind boggling at all. Swedish forwards picked are not creative enough. Need nylander.

I've been a big critic of the 2nd and 3rd lines during the exhibition games but I think they've been good so far in this game.

They were better in the 1st, I agree. Russians looking like they're asleep, no fire.

Nice display on Swedish television showung box play, actually high light the box area between the four players dynamic over time.

I feel like Kruger is quite underrated in here. Sure he doesn't put up a lot of points but his defensive game is top notch and he's not entirely useless offensively.

We basically have two offensive lines and two defensive ones.

Bäckström's line hasn't been great. Forsberg has to be much better.

I don't think that we're watching the same game both Bäckströms line and Söderbergs line has played really well

Even period. Two good kills on both sides. Good, slow, safe start to the tourney. Now we bild from that. And up the tempo a bit. Markström looks legit in net as well. Hope he keeps it up.

I think they've been solid enough this game.

I would've wanted Lundqvist in net (of course), but Markström is a solid backup, he has developed his game alot. He should compete with Miller to be the starting goalie.

This feels like a trench-warfare sort of game. The sort of game were a fluke goal could change everything- and yet, I feel quite comforted by Sweden's moderate dominance in the 1st period.

They have been "good" but with the talent they have, they should be better than good imo. It's not a one game analysis here, it's been all tourney.
