I expect a big game from both Matthews and Laine. They love competition and know everyone will be watching them. They are both vs good teams and know it won't be easy.

I expect them to trade chances all night.

Ghost can take over games, something Trouba isn't capable of doing. It would be ridiculous if Ghost wasn't on their lineup. Too good just on the PP alone.

I disagree but we'll have to see how he performs. He's indeed a pp dynamo, it's his even strength play that has me concerned. To me he hasnt looked very good 5 on 5 thro the exhibition slate (tho neither has Trouba really) and I worry he could struggle from that perspective. However if he's scoring/contributing in a big way offensively then maybe it's worth the odd miscue. I just really like Trouba's game honestly. Ekblad, Rielly, Parayko could be admirable pp stand ins in his stead imo.

I have seen just one pregame from team NA, so I base my opinion on last year. Tbh Ekblad, Rielly, Parayko aren't nearly as good on powerplay as Gostisbehere. So it's not like they could do his job. The way he moves on the blueline with the puck or how he shoots it, there aren't a lot of other Dman who could do that. We'll see.

I'm pumped to see Matthews-McDavid-Scheifele.

The styles of those players all matchup well together. Matthews from 13th forward to top line by the time the tournament starts, hard to believe. He's earned it though, I've been impressed.

C'mon Finns! Sweden did their part, now you do yours. Let's make it the two of us going through to the semis! :)

He's really good at holding the line on the PP too, he's good at stopping teams from icing the puck. Reminds me of Ryan Ellis at the 2016 WHC in terms of holding the line.

Ghost doesn't have the hardest slap shot, but he's got very good accuracy and he's a good passer. There's a reason he's the 1st team PP guy.

Why is this game so ****ing late? I mean, this is Finland and what time is there? Like 4 am? Why couldn't they play this one earlier?
The game starts at 03:00 in the morning in Finland. The whole nation will be half asleep at work tomorrow.

It's a ridiculous starting time for sure. They should at least have started the game half an hour ago.

I really wanted to at least watch part of the game, but 1 hour and 30 minutes until puck drop? Ridiculous, I have to get up at 07:00 in the morning tomorrow. So I can't watch it. The NHL only care about the NA viewers and fans.

Yes, not the hardest one but a very heavy shot. It's a combination of velocity and accuracy. Your comment makes it seem that his shot isn't that hard, but I'm sure it's not your purpose.:)

Wow, you brought two microscopes. That's dedication.

Definitely not, his shot certainly isn't weak. I mean it's not a Shea Weber or Al Macinnis insane velocity.

He's got above average velocity, but his accuracy is deadly.

Go Finland. The NHL, every media outlet and their mother are openly rooting for the U23 team and I'm hoping Finland shuts them up.

whatcha talking about , Finland is gonna win this tourney :D

I'm not sure what is Finland going to do when they become the favorite in a game in the future. WJC was a good example how the mindset of the Finn players is changing and they won it, but it doesn't happen quickly. The winning culture.

Think I'd rather have Trouba in for this game than Ghost.
They'll miss his grit/nasty imo. Ghost has incredible offense but NA has that in spades, I'd rather a more steady influence defensively.

they have ghost because the pp they run is with 4 forwards and one dman, him being a good ppqb is a big reason they have him over trouba

Is Haula a better C than Lehtera? Who is the better player overall?

Jori isn't very fast and Haula is a good skater. Haula is the better option here to get in front of the net before the fast junior guys. Haula is also a good two-way guy, so Jori is bringing offense to this line.
