I was frustrated during Sweden's loss to Europe, but we were at least the better team, creating more chances etc.

Question is.

Is Europe a great team, or is USA grossly under-performing?

I'm obviously talking about Lundqvist. Just thought it was funny you didn't even mention him.

Lundqvist is in my top 5, but tbh I've never liked his unorthodox deep net style and thought it made him susceptible to some bad goals. Price, Holtby, and Schneider to me play the most stable reliable styles and have the most reliable games. Lundqvist can be pretty dominant and can make some pretty huge saves for his team though when he's on.

Lol we are not good. USA is underperforming. Give players like Drai, Gaborik, Zucc and Kopitar odd man rushes and they will create chances. Perfect for Europe so far, the right players have gotten the chances and we are keeping the US on the outside in our defensive sone. Solid defensive performance so far.

I really don't think team Europe is bad at all on paper. Just a few old guys that took a bit to get going. They're a great team.

I'm surprised that Laviolette doesn't get more love from USA Hockey. Maybe I'm missing something but I feel like his game style would do fairly well at an international tournament.

Same here. I don't get it. The problem starts at the top of USA hockey.
