I believe he’s 13th quickest in terms of games among the twenty one 600 goal scorers. Only took him 305 more games than Ovechkin.

Always wondered where he would be at if he didn't have that concussion/neck injury. Because it's not just determining pace, he was a different player at that time, he focused his game on the other side of the puck a little more after coming back, before that he was this insane points machine. It wouldn't be just figuring out what he would have scored from 2010-12, but how his scoring would have increased in his career had he not changed his game after the concussion. I did look it over...

In those first 6 seasons (6th being cut short at 41) - 215 goals in 412 games - 43 goal per season pace (from 2011 to now, 38 goal pace per season).

I think if he kept scoring at the same rate as those first 6 seasons, he'd be at 75 more goals so not as much as I thought (around 674 goals).

Edit: Obviously he could have pushed for more near the end of those first 6 seasons if he was healthy and those numbers could be higher because around the time he scored 51 goals, the knock was he needed to shoot more, so he went and worked on it in the off season and showed up a 50 goal scorer and he was trending to be a 60+ goal scorer the year he got his concussion, but it's whatever now. Still a legend for the things he ended up doing anyway.

Always thought his scoring was underrated. In a perfect world, Sid might have made a push for 800 goals in his career.

Crosby scored 600-th - named 1-st star of the night.
When Ovechkin scored 700-th named 2-nd star of the night.
Both time their teams lost. "Very fair" desicion (no)

Without a doubt. His injuries and COVID probably "robbed" him of 65-75 goals. He'd be hit 700 this season. He'd probably finish his contract on 760-770 and go from there.

Impressive for him to hit it while being primarily a playmaker.

More evidence of his strong longevity since his top placings outside his two firsts are pretty slim.

A couple more goals puts him 20th all-time.

He'll then be in the top 20 in regular goals and regular season assists, as well as playoff goals and playoff assists. An all-time great at both goal scoring and playmaking.

Crosby ranks high in all six of these categories:
  • Most goals with a single franchise (7th player to reach 600 goals)
  • Most assists with a single franchise (7th player to reach 1,000 assists - currently in 6th)
  • Most points with a single franchise (6th player to reach 1,600 points)
  • Most playoff goals with a single franchise (12th player to reach 70 goals - currently in 11th)
  • Most playoff assists with a single franchise (3rd player to reach 130 assists)
  • Most playoff points with a single franchise (4th player to reach 200 points)
He's 95 assists away from setting the all-time record for most (regular season) assists with a franchise. And he's 193 points away from setting the record for most (RS) points. It will come down to how long he wants to keep playing.
