84th Overall - Kirill Kirsanov

Kirsanov looked decent. He's big, mobile, has a great outlet pass, and looked very poised in his positioning. I'm glad he might be making his way over because that overall style of game played was beer league style. It looked like there was no systems at all. He definitely will need AHL time if he wants to make the NHL because those leagues aren't teaching him (or anyone) anything.
Yeah, that team they played was the No 2 team in the league. It just wasn't a quality game.

It's the Russian equivalent of the AHL though. A couple of the giveaways and goals allowed were pretty soft.

Most important part is just getting him in shape. He has had fitness issues.

The game was boring and StPetersburg was over matched...Noticed the size and some great hits by the Defense...Silayev,Kirsanov are big boys

Between KHL and VHL teams Kirsaonv played 76 games this year...that should have gotten him into the North American kind of scheduling anyways...

Not quite sure I understand the issue.

Kings have had a lot of issues getting their Russian prospects to come overseas. This is a nice change.
I would be too if I was told I'd have to start in the AHL...kind of a step down from KHL...that and we haven't exactly treated them well...Frolov was 1 of our best fowards to go with Kopi many years ago and Lombardi dumped him and then the Kings adopted the style that Frolov was a master of the Cycle...and Won 2 Cups partly becuase of it...Prokhorkin...Tkachev...then there is the language barrier and culture shock...tough for 1 Russian better with 2 or 3 or 4!!!

Well Kirsanov's team Torpedo Gorky(Novgorod) Won the Minor League Championship of Russia's VHL5-2 over Khimik Voskresensk(Moscow Oblast)..So I guess Kirill Kirsanov will be in LA shortly
