By the way, don't bother with the Spanish film "Black Beach" on Netflix. It's quite pointless. "Space Sweepers" is ,,, I have no idea how normal people would feel about it. It's kind of goofy.

I feel like you folks don't understand that I have no time to actively watch TV right now. I can shitpost while working and running models for class, but there's no way I can concentrate on watching all of these tv shows.

Harvey Dent was right. You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain... Mighty Ducks are the bad guys yo

But wow. Emilio Estevez sounds so much like his Dad the older he gets and even looks more like him.

I wish Disney would just go away. Just coasting off their brand making 100’s of shows/movies where like a handful if that are actually any good.

Spent his entire life chasing hockey and has nothing to show it? Started a dynasty if the Ducks won over 10 State Titles. Gold medalist in the Junior Goodwill Games. What?

Yea. I'm not really sure how his character gets to that point without some pretty dark events which are likely to be too dark for a family-friend Disney+ 'Mighty Ducks' revival TV show honestly.

Still will check this out. Growing up in Philly when I did with our sports teams being as bad as they were. The Mighty Ducks was like the closest thing to watching a team win a championship during my youth lol. I still remember coming out of the AMC-Orleans theater up on Bustleton Avenue after watching the second movie and everyone singing We Are the Champions along with the credits.

AMC Orleans 8 was my go-to theater as well! So many memories there.

Why would I watch a Mighty Ducks show where they are the villain?

Make it make sense.

Will give them credit for the Marvel shows. WandaVision is great. They really do a good job with the MCU.

That stuff doesn’t really do anything for me personally but I was essentially giving them credit for stuff like that when I said some of it is good. It’s like the other 100’s of shit they make. I just hate it but I understand it makes them a lot of money & for most things they could just take a shit in a box & it would gain an audience.

I guess what I am saying is I hate over-saturation.

So the people getting those massive energy bills in TX are basically being told they made a bad bet and it's just part of market capitalism. While true....that bit of gotcha capitalism is why you can't deregulate and be so laissez faire...the law of the jungle will rule and you will be eaten alive...

The main HDD on my PC is 7ish years old. It just showed its first sign of failure.

So I've already gone from "Awesome, I need a clean start anyway. Just buy an SSD and roll on" to "But what if I got a new motherboard, and CPU, and 32 GB RAM, and upgraded GPU?

good luck with your GPU hunt because of CRYPTOMINERS.
Plus pandemic = more people upgraded/upgrading systems
Plus tariffs imposed on China recently went into effect in late December so the supply of non-tariffed Power Supplies, RAM, GPU has dwindled out and the refresh supply is now at higher prices.

The new 3000 series GPU's from Nvidia launched last September. They were high in demand because of people building new systems, wanting to upgrade, and cryptominers. The launch price for a 3080 was $699, launch price for a 3070 was $499, 3060ti came out at $399.

NOW? Still ridiculously hard to get them as cryptominers *LOVE* the 3060ti and 3080. They gobble up the 3070 as well even tho it's not as efficient in terms of power usage vs crypto ability.

The retail prices for the cards (if you can beat a bot to buy one) are now around 20% to 30% higher than when they launched and even OLD graphics cards are in short supply or marked up.

I built my current system on an $800ish budget in 2018. The GPU is a 1060 6GB version that cost $275 at the time. That same model is now selling USED on Ebay for $300 or more regularly.

I'm not gonna bother. I'm defeating the urge to completely overhaul. But it's difficult. My i5 is showing its age now, finally, and I need double the memory on the GPU for recommended specs. But those can wait for now.

Motherboard is limited to i7 at best though.

I've gotten the parts for quite a few PCs in the last few months. If you decide to go for a GPU, screw everything else and focus on Best Buy drops. Their bot prevention actually works pretty well.

CPUs are a little easier, depending on what you want. 5950x and 5900x are a royal pain in the ass. 5600x and 5800x pop up with frequency.

Basically any i7 is an upgrade for me, but I have to decide how much time is left for them before everything gets on the i9 train. If i7 is viable for 5-7 more years then I should just do it

If you're going to go that far then you should also get a new case to put it all in, and a new monitor so that everything looks shiny. Maybe new cables too, just to make sure that all the current gets where it's supposed to go in a timely fashion.

I've been on this train too. My system is running at around 7 years. I don't need an upgrade, but there's a good chance my storage HDD is going to start failing soon. And it would be nice to have a faster processor. Case and power supply are fine, and I would actually take the opportunity to fix how some of the internals are arranged. Since I don't game anymore, I don't need a new GPU. But I'm stuck on what to do about an OS, because I despise W10 and kind of need to stick with a windows system for some of the software I use. I'm sure there are linux alternatives, I just need to make a list of what I need to download.
