I'm certainly not well seasoned in the stock market but lollllll to all of the people freaking out on Twitter who just started a month ago because there's a down day and they have yet to experience one. Genuinely, I don't think we've seen a big drop in a few months.

Maybe, just maybe, don't gamble in a casino on companies you've never heard of because some guy on the internet said it was going to the moon. All that is happening in those situations is that guy who is telling you that bought it three weeks ago and is just trying to pump it so that he can make money off of you and leave you holding the bag.

I'm only invested in 2 cryptos; Bitcoin & Nucypher. Days like today suck but they are actually a good time to buy more.

I was listening to the Rewatchables for Neighbors and they had an interesting discussion about comedy movies over the past 5 years. Can you guys name a comedy that was laugh out loud funny or just good thats come out since 2016? Only one I've liked was Game Night. A lot of people said Blockers but I didn't think it was that funny.

I remember from like 2005-2014 we would get 3-5 good to great comedies every year.

Seeing a lot of people talking about NBA Top Shot and now some players are getting involved. Still seems sketchy af to me
It's all just "influencers" that are likely getting some type of kickback for talking about it. The whole thing being talked about with any type of legitimacy is lunacy. The people that were in early will make their money while hyping it up but the ones that buy the hype will be left holding the bag.

I think the entertainment industry as a whole struggles today for various reasons. But I think one key area is just the over-saturation of content regardless of quality. I think it’s harder to come up with original ideas as the audience is just generally smarter (given the resources the internet provides) & have been exposed to basically everything thus making them more cynical. You can’t really do remakes anymore as the audience can just look up information on it as well as buy as digital copy of the original. Then they have a hard time beating nostalgia & originality.

what is that
I've been talking about it for weeks now. It's a ponzi scheme where people are paying thousands of dollars for something that you can watch on YouTube. You don't own the rights to the video or anything. You literally just "own" what is in that tweet below.
@JojoTheWhale

IT'S. A. YOUTUBE. HIGHLIGHT.

And they’re all stroking each other off in the responses like they’re some kind of geniuses.

Thats one of the dumbest things I've ever heard of. How did the NBA even like grow this into a thing that people would buy? You are purchasing something with 0 value, that can be reproduced over and over however many times you want.

The NBA doesn’t own it, they just get a cut of transactions so why wouldn’t they do it? It’s some outside company.

It genuinely just seems like crypto bros and influencers felating themselves over this and then people talk about it.

If this goes on to make someone billions and become the world’s only currency I wouldn’t feel like I missed out even in the slightest. I’d rather invest in studies to see if Viagra cures hampster jet lag.

Good point. They mentioned on the pod how they think studios are now going for "safer" films financially like comic book movies or Oscar bait rather than comedys. And even a mix of both. Deadpool and Thor Ragnarok are comic book movies that could be considered comedies. I think that has something to do with it as well.

The Death of Stalin but that never hit the major theaters and it's a completely different sense of humor than what I think you're after.

Big budget comedies are essentially dead outside of vehicles for specific stars. There's basically no international market, which means you have to accept that you'll make less money from day one. Instead you get comedy/popcorn hybrids.

Yep, the international market was mentioned as well. Good point. In the reddit discussion of the pod, a lot of people mentioned The Death of Stalin so I might have to try it out.

This seems like a good time to mention that I am bringing NHL Top Shot to the Megaverse. Get in early.

That's great and everything, but I'm not sure how you are ever going to catch up to Cap's Hot Shit Holograms in the Try-Hard Garbage Shop Mental Annex. I have been selling those for weeks. Like just now, I created a Lou Brock rookie hologram in my mind and priced it at only $42,999.

Anyone ever watch ZeroZeroZero on Amazon Prime?

Just started watching this and it’s incredible. It’s about massive shipment of cocaine and the players involved in Italy, Mexico, America, etc.

Mogwai does the score too.
