Prospect Info: #80 Graeme Clarke RW

So, on the heels of his Utica season, is Clarke a contender for the NHL roster?
He arguably had one of the best camps this year too. I think he’s a sleeper to make this roster next year.

Just looks like a quietly effective player with a knack for scoring goals. With the teams lack of RHS, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him find his way onto a 3RW.

Clarke's season really has me breathing a sigh of relief - I worried about our forward depth in the pipeline. But Clarke's emergence and Gritsyuk continuing his play helps quite a bit. Stillman still looks like a potential solid 4th liner too. Would have liked to see Thompson emerge too, but...

I was going to say that I wasn’t sure we were even going to sign Stillman but apparently we did right after we drafted him.

Any Devils fans see him as NHL level player?

25 goals, 58 points in 68 games in the A
15 points (7 goals), 0.83 ppg so far this season
Looked really good coming into preseason. Thought he would push for a spot and a least be one of the first call-ups. Had a bad camp and his outlook doesn’t look as good at least for time being. Still young and has some nice skill

He has yet to play a game. He was called up last year for 2 games and didn't get into the lineup. He still has NHL potential but if he wants to get called up than he will have to produce a bit more. Right now we are set with forwards , especially offensive ones. Would take some serious injuries and goal scoring slump for him to get called up. Holtz actually put the work in and looks to be an NHL regular now.

They were just talking about him on The Devils Insider podcast. With the Devils struggling to score 5 v 5 isn't it at least worth giving him an opportunity? This is his fourth season in the organization.

Even if I don't like him as a concept of Devils player, I would give him a chance. May be he will score some goals and achieve some points and may be someone will be ready to pay lower round pick for him in the draft day. Or at least he will show himself and will have an opportunity for more than he has in Devils organisation.

Clarke should request a trade in the offseason. The organization isn't giving him a chance while they will burn assets on guys like MacDermid and play them 5 minutes a night

I wouldn't even be mad if he actually does request a trade. His offensive numbers have improved every year. I know he isn't known for. being great on defense but the kid deserves a call up with some good minutes given to him.

He probably gets few games if/when the Devils miss the playoffs. Otherwise, I don't mind if he request a trade. He is a dime in a dozen prospect.

Clarke prob is the equivalent of Reilly Walsh. Seems like he would have value to teams (to a certain extent), but winds up being traded for the defenseman equivalent of Shane Bowers.

Most of the 2019 picks will lose their waiver exemption starting next season, so he'll get a chance one way or another.

Clarke is probably one of those guys who scores well in the AHL but can't translate it to NHL, and without another skill set (e.g., PK specialist, defensive forward) it makes it a challenge to move up. He hasn't really gotten a shot though, and now would be a good time for him and Halonen to get NHL time.
