Yeah, you can't blame the refs a whole lot on that one. It really looked like he played it.

The problem is that Andersen basically did everything he could to make the ref think he played the puck. He even swiped at it. What was he trying to accomplish? Fool the ref? He did that.

Should it have been a call? No. By the book he didn't do anything wrong. But he sure made it easy for the referee to think he did.

Agreed, but it isn't. They missed the boat not adding some very basic stuff to the reviewable list.

Because it missed Andersen's stick by probably about an inch. Maybe not even that.

I'm not going to be critical of the ref in this situation, because in real time I certainly thought he played it.
