That third line was useless.

Goodrow seems pretty good with Paquette I'd stick him back there, Coleman doesn't seem like he fits anywhere right now. Gourde is as fast as ever but I'm not really sure about him at center maybe swap him with Killorn for a bit next to Cirelli.

Killorn - Stephens - Coleman
Maroon - Paquette - Goodrow

Boston's next. Just as Washington was a step up from Florida, I'd expect Boston to be a step up from Washington. Almost a guarantee that's going to be a physical and more intense game since there's no love between our teams.
This time I don't agree with you.
Imho Boston is "easier" than Washington to play against for us. Also our history against both the 2 teams, the last seasons, says that against the Bruins, we played a better hockey (and we won more times).
It seems that, of course in my opinion, Washington knows how to counter us and we suffer the Craps intensity more than the Bruins one.

We seem to be more physical with Boston than we do Washington. Should be an interesting game though.

Boston doesn't scare me since they are basically a one line team, but Washington always scares me because they can score and beat the crap out of you
Exactly, I agree with you.
We could lose against Boston of course, it's not a guaranteed win.
But Boston is a mono-line team...Washington could create problem to us (both with the talent and with the bodies and the crappy plays) with all the 4 lines.
And, also, it seems that WSH knows how to counter us.
So, I'd rather to meet Boston.

I looked up who Blake Coleman's most frequent linemates with the Devils were this year. He played with Travis Zajac an overwhelming amount of the time. Maybe there's something missing with that dynamic?

Washington is the one team I want no part of in a 7 game series. Could the Lightning lose to a different team? Of course. I just want no part of the Caps. Will be pulling for whoever they play when elimination starts. I also do want to be bracketed with Washington. If the Lightning are #1, I want Washington at 2 or 3.

We will see when Stammer is healthy, but it’s gonna be tough to take Stephens off the ice. There are other candidates to sit. Nothing against anyone in the top 12. They all belong in someone’s top 12.

Paquette? Guorde? Coleman?

The sooner the Caps will be out of this post season, the better it'll be for us.
And only because they have Ovechkin. There're many reasons why I want them out.
I'd rather to play the Pens (and Pittsburgh is another team I'm scared by, for both Crosby and the officiating issues).
But Washington...or at least, this version of the Crapitals, is the same thing Nadal was for Federer: the worst possible opponent.
PS: the Blues could be another Craps-like opponent, imho.

I didn't mind either Paq or Gourdes games today. Coleman was basically invisible. He hasn't really done much for us

All the round-robin teams are playing qualifier teams in the first round.

**** I ****ing hate NHL.com
it used to be just fine
then it got super garbage
now it's apparently decided to up it's level of garbage

I was asleep.
Sue me. I click on Scores. I see Tampa Washington. I click on 4-3 Tampa. I am greeted with 2 options: "Watch" and "Videos"
so I can create an account to watch NHL.tv I guess? "NHL LIVE" or I can stream video replay highlights? How about you let me ****ing click on a boxscore so I can read ****ing text and see who the **** assisted goals and what the shots are. No, that's way too complicated, even though apparently you can do that with a different game that also is over today, and click on several additional options, including boxscore.

Can anyone direct me to a good NHL scores website that lets me, well, view NHL scores in a text format? I don't care if there's graphics. Just a not completely broken, ad-filled, registration or payment requiring, long-form video presenting glitchy, slow loading piece of **** like nhl.com has become. So, basically. Can someone point me to a website that is like nhl.com was for it's first 2 decades of existence when it was a great.

Good first win back. Vasy and the PK won us that game. Nice job too overcoming the officiating skewed more in the Caps end with the 4-0 disparity in PP's for them.

Bruins are more of a one line team than the Caps, but Boston will be helped out by having the last change. Since a loss for them eliminates them from the top seed, I'll be curious to see how much they go for it Wednesday or if they save it for the first round.

I just use ESPN now. That's how bad it's gotten. But to their credit, it is at least easy to navigate and intuitive to use for the NHL boxscores. I use it with no problem when following games live when I'm at work.

Yeah Coleman needs to start producing and Killorn needs to start finishing, Cirelli is creating tons though.
No. Cirelli is a liability and not good. The announcers weren't even talking about. That should tell you how bad he is.

Go figure... I tried on my phone later, no problem at all. Maybe nhl.com hates firefox or PC? Even though every other game let me pick boxscore or whatever work-around leads to it. Ugh.
Also Tampa scored twice on "OT2" and their opposition scored once in "OT2".

Great 1st 35 minutes then implosion.

Rough ending. Nice win but they owned us late.

Sigh...thank you vasy.

Vasy was pretty leaky in the second but saved our asses in the third and OT. Hopefully he got that out of his system in this game.

Kind of hard to assess. We looked good, bad, kinda good, kinda bad.

Vasy might never grow out of that problem where he loses pucks in his feet and/or thinks he has them covered when they're just sitting there in front of him. It's an issue that just keeps coming back on him.

We really only have one dangerous line, which is kind of insane. Luckily that line looks really dangerous.

The good news is some support players looked good. Johnson, gourde, and Paquette all had strong games, IMO. Maroon was solid. Stephens was good. Nobody looked bad or terrible. At worst, we had some invisible guys.

I feel like Jon Cooper got caught having an affair with some powerful referee's wife. The lack of powerplays has been an ongoing issue all year, especially in relation to how much we possess the puck. The overhead shots showed some pretty egregious infractions that went uncalled.
