Ok, I was being a little bit smart.

What I'm saying is, the whole thing is kinda dumb when you think about it. I mean, we root for these guys we don't even know playing a silly game. But we do it, and I do it too. I want to research why it means so much to us.

Ok I gotcha.
That could be kinda interesting.

Strome really was good. He’s better served on the third line but he’s a good player. Needed to get out of Edmonton that’s all. Certainly not a 5th overall player but he’s a good player.

Trouba is a beast. The whole right side is.

but more importantly. Complete flip of the last few games. Staal got third pair mins on the left side. And sure enough hurt us less. We’ve got to recognize this has to be the norm. Skjei and Hajek have to play over him.

that was lemieuxs best game of the season.

I still really think the schedule has a lot to do with our issues than people realize. Now we’re getting games and finding ourselves.

You know how when a player is "trying to do too much" and it usually ends up working against them?

Trouba is literally doing too much but has been pretty damn effective at it..

Let’s relax on Kakko he’s 8 games into his nhl career. Easily could have had a goal tonight. He’s 18 years old. Jack Hughes has 2 points in 8 games and is a -4 too. So it’s completely normal. We need to give him mins though. He needs to play thru it. Too talented. To not get going. But he needs mins.

pretty sure everyones relaxed about it

Ofc the one game I miss and decide not to DVR

Glad to see Howden and Strome have good games. We need those two to step it up. They’ll never be great 2Cs, but if they can play well within themselves our center depth won’t be the tirefire it’s been since the start of the year. We just need them to be decent.

Panarin seemed like he dominated

Tonight was Panarin, Lemieux's, Strome's, Buch's and Smith's best games of the season as well as the team's best game of the season....coincedence? I think not. We need more of this going forward.

Bread was a magician with the puck and dangerous all night. This is why we paid him the big bucks. Lemieux was that grit and sandpaper we all have come to love. He plays like this, it's huge for us. And Strome might have played his best game as a Ranger.

On a down note and yes I'm addressing the elephant in the living room...I'd be lying if I'm not concerned about Kakko. I don't know what's up but he seems alot slower than he used to be. It's as if he's skating in quick sand. It's effecting his whole game seeing he can't get to pucks and is always a step behind. This needs to be addressed.

Yes he's 18 but other 18 year old like Rasmus Dahlin, Petersson, Skinner when he was a rookie and plenty of others I don't feel like naming didn't have issues skating.

I dunno folks...maybe a a few weeks in Hartford could do him some good like it seems to have had with Chytil. Two or three more games like this, that move needs to be done. as much as it would suck it might be the best thing for him to get some confidence back.

im more worried about Zibanejad being nowhere to be found tonight. Was that Kakko's fault? Kreider's? A little of both? I think Panarin showed he can play with anybody.

Mika had a few moments as did Kreider but agreed Zibs wasn't as dangerous as normal. I know one thing for sure, Kakko wasn't keeping up with both of them from my observation of that line.

Maybe they need a few more games to play together and they'll click like Bread,Strome and Buchie did. Here's to hoping they do.

I think he's trade bait sooner rather than later. Trouba and Fox are going nowhere and Lundkvist is on the way.

hes going no where next few years

hes our best offensive dman by alot right now and hell get better

he will get his deal next year and play a large part of this teams future.

lundkvist is an unknown right now and ADA is one of the best players on this roster right now

If it's effective then it's not too much, it's just called a lot.

Remains to be seen. I don't think the organization is as high on him as you are. Right D has become a strength, both on the team presently and in the prospect pool. I could see one of them being traded to improve another position. It's not going to be Trouba or Fox.

I think they just had no chemistry playing together. Seemed like they all did their own thing when they got in the offensive zone and were unable to sustain pressure before the puck heads back the other way. They played a bit with Fast instead of Kakko and didn't do much with that either.

Lots to like in this game, obviously. Just a shame Kakko hit the post instead of scoring.

Unchanged lineup for the next one?
