I've been living in Buffalo for over a decade. We all know this team has been very bad for a while.

The fans think this is another ruse. Rink is always "sold out". They call the place the library. Everyone just assumes they'll turn to dogshit again in no time.

I HATE losing to Buffalo. I never hear the end of it.

Please Rangers, put in a solid effort and have everyone contribute.

This is the kind of game that could be a surprise win. I can absolutely see a scenario where the Sabres do not take the Rangers seriously, the Rangers play desperately, and walk out with the points.

Frustration must be high across the room. Five straight losses, four of them has been teams that should be beaten when you aiming for the playoffs. Losing sucks life out of you.

That was in the past, those specific teams look more like they are "coming of age". Everything starting to gel. (Where hopefully we will be in a couple years, if not sooner) I am only skeptical of Edmonton. Then again, they have those two beasts, and with any kind of decent goaltending......ya' never know. Either way......literally 5 of those "past horrific" teams should easily be ahead of us come seasons end.
Its the Black Hawks, Kings (notice the trend along with us, once powerhouses) and more obviously Ottawa and Detroit that will be fighting with us till the end.

Yeah, dont want Howden to "fail" per sé, but has had many more opportunities to prove his offensive worth than Lias. Seems Quinn is happy with him concentrating on defensive positioning, and okay with little offensive production. Maybe that is the process? Isnt that somewhat similar in what Hayes had to do? Kevin was never known for being a 200 ft player until maybe his last 2 years. Howden may have been thrown to the wolves prematurely and is learning on the run with Quinn.

At this point, Lias seems a bit beyond Howden with defensive capabilities already there, now all he has to do is figure out ways to get on the scoresheet.
Lemmy/Lias/Fast seems like they would be difficult to play against and may be able to get some chemistry if "left together" for a good stretch.

Agree.......Quinn NEEDS TO stop trying to rush things. Allow some pairs to get really acquainted with one another. Not 2 games and then BOOM, switch it up. Looking for lightning in a bottle, when there is much more time for solid bonding, which is better for the long term.

I am not saying tank, but making the PO's really shouldn't be the priority. You dont tell your players that (in fact opposite) but, the brain trust needs to set their priorities straight. IMHO.

What could be the obvious answer to all of this is that he might be higher on Lias and more focused on him developing the proper way instead of frustrating him in a role that's over his head right now. My personal thought is that Lias still needs to get stronger in order to truly play his own style of hockey, Howden is just bigger at this point. In the same way I not for one second believe that anyone in the organization feel that Howden is better than Chytil yet Howden is here and Chytil in Hartford. I dont think his usage should be read into too much. I feel it's more about Lias and Filip being ready and to not expose them too early.

I'm not as down on this team as most appear to be, I do think we need to move Kreider preferably before Christmas and bring up Chytil and Kravtsov to replace him and Haley. I believe Gorton and Quinn are doing what's best for the players development over the current state of the team. I said it last year that next year was the year to build towards, but we need our own drafted players to be brought along in the proper way which I believe they are doing.

So if Buffalo pulls a Tampa, phones it in, play down to their opponent, Rangers have a shot.

Buffalo is ripping through teams and the Rangers are hot garbage and on a losing streak. So naturally this will be a dominate performance from the Rangers. I've seen enough sports to know how these weird situations play out

Hank's given up a couple of those last second playoff heartbreakers that go 5-hole which makes me very 'eh' when I think about it. Last second sucks balls but it happens and is acceptable....but last second 5-hole? Twice? Drury's, and also Sergei Fedorov The Great in game 7, Tort's first season if I recall.

Actually happy for those loyal, crazy fans. Hated them way back when in the Jim Kelly days......thats long gone. Its about time they have something to be happy about. X2 now.
