If you see a players name and numbers and they are that close to the boards, and in a vulnerable position, you just CAN'T push them lightly. They aren't expecting it, and can get very hurt, as Talbot did. This is the new NHL and those are the types of hits they want to eliminate. I understand why they called it the way they did.

If that was Callahan on the receiving end, this board would be going ape ****.

This game has been an absolute chore to watch. The only times I've been passively interested was when Kreider accidentally laid out McD and some the minor scraps after the whistle.

Otherwise, I'm having a hard time staying awake. The Rangers are a mess..

The outcome was nasty, but Pouliot hardly touched him and from the side. That's a two minute minor because he went into the boards (instead of over), but you can't call a major there, or you can no longer touch anybody within 10 feet of the boards.

Also why did only Dorsett get a 10 minute misconduct? Coburn skating in and putting his hand in Dorsett's face is fine?

I'm at work but looking at the box score and the number of penalties, boardings and misconducts, it sounds like the boys are showing some backbone. And Talbot seems to have been solid. Hope to catch a rerun when I get home tonight.
