Does the GM Briere have the authority to fire him or does he need Hilferty and/or Jones approval. I do not think he can fire him on his own. He isn’t even allowed to fire Rocky. If he was logic tells you he would have unless he really is this incompetent or just around of fake tough guy JT.

Just show how bad this franchise has become when they can’t recognize he is not a good coach and was a bad hire from jump street.

York was benched because a bigger, faster, stronger player pushed him off the puck and set up the goal. Of course, when you have 3 smurf D, this will likely happen every shift, so I'm not sure why it's a surprise. They need to get bigger and faster throughout the lineup, and, no, I don't mean Pelletier. Drysdale is fast, Andrae is slow and York is average. Pray for Schneider.

Depends. He needs to be hands on. He needs to have some say; his ego demands it. That is how he is wired. A laid-back role won’t suit him, if he does do that can’t see it lasting very long.

Since he reports directly to “Hilf” I can see him working that angle for a much more important job possibly. Dare I say for lack of a better word backstabbing Brire to an extent. Maybe even POHO where they say Jones was only a placeholder or something to that extent.

It really is sad and pathetic that the state of the team has the fan base in such a poor place. There is literally zero hope on the horizon. Objectively, one has to ask if in the three years that Tortorella has coached this team, has he moved the franchise forward. Has he set up the team for the future and made significant progress towards building a future contending team. The answer in my view is emphatically no! The Tortorella era has been a complete and utter disaster.
