Post-Game Talk: Habs lose 4-1 to Canes

This is a fact of all sports fandom. Not sure how old you are but you must be rather inexperienced if you think this exact scenario is new or novel.

The old guys watching the game at the bar only piss and moan and are rarely happy. It’s part and parcel of fan sports. As common as beer farts.

Hell, the famous bar on Bishop was called GRUMPY’s.

You must be high if you think a high stakes playoff chase falling apart at the finish line with piss poor efforts WONT have a negative reflection from fans

Seems like you’re convinced of your imminent departure. Can we do anything to change your mind?
Speaking of people who wait in the wings to shitpost...

Why are some people complaining about "toxic" posters? These threads are open to anyone to express their opinions within limits and guidelines.
If you don't agree with a specific comment then let it be known if you want, or just ignore it.
Personally, I find "toxic" posters interesting and a good source of entertainment.
I disagree. Bad faith comments should never be accepted, and while the ignore feature is absolutely necessary on these boards, the false narratives and clear trolling that only appears after losses is incredibly annoying. Differences in opinions don't bother me, but when they're so unfounded and intentionally bad, I don't see where the entertainment is. This board turns to trash so quickly when the whiners come out from their holes

I disagree to your disagreement, but agree you can disagree.

No point in scoreboard watching. This team doesn’t deserve a playoff spot. It’s either best team in the NHL type of play, or worst team in the NHL. There’s never an in between performance.

I think this is just the team reverting back to pre 4 nations play. There is no more two week break to re-energize the group.

Habs have some good peices, but they will need to address their depth if they want to make the playoffs next year.... and it starts at 2C as well as having a backup that they can trust all year.

Yeah, at this point it's not even worth mentioning st louis. he is what he is and it is management's fault that we have a coaching staff that we have. And that team got zero help at the deadline. Nobody can tell me that with a little bit more structure and system that better suits current roster, Habs wouldn't have 5-6 more wins. Man to man, does Ottawa have a better team? Does New Jersey? Each team not named Wash and Carolina has a couple of star players, and rest is a crapshoot. THe difference is coaching, taking advantage of each player's strength and managing the weaknesses. Not trying to fit a square peg into a round hole.
Well said :thumbu:

Trade Matheson this summer fr. I don’t even care that the D will be younger. He is not someone to be relied on

MSL has improved the team every year since he's been hired, with garbage rosters, and no help at all this TDL, when even a decent 2C would allow for the 5-6 more wins you are talking about. While I'm incredibly disappointed that they are fumbling the ball this close to the end, its important to recognize that not only has MSL been the right choice for coach, a coach like you describe would've hampered development and forced us into a trap style that would keep our team weak at scoring, without room to make mistakes and grow. NJ and OTT both have a lot of talent and better goaltending than us currently. What you're saying makes little sense.

Each year MSL has been behind the bench, he's got the most out of rosters that were not meant to compete, and our key players are better for it. The HuGo era has been excellent for this franchise

I wish MSL would balance out the ice time if fatigue is a problem.

Just go:

Hutson - Struble
Guhle - Carrier
Xhekaj/Savard - Matheson

Or

Matheson - Carrier
Hutson - Struble
Xhekaj/Savard - Guhle

Everyone plays approximately 20 minutes a night, except Hutson 25 and Savard/Xhekaj 15.

I guess Rob Brindamour is a bad coach

Matheson is fine. They just play him way too much. Same with Monty. The guy never played so many games per season in his career . He is not a real #1 goalie.
