Stepan's contract is fine.

It's Boyle, Girardi, Staal, and even Nash that are the problems.

Personally i dont think he'd get that much more, but who knows.
As well as being well compensated throughout his career, Hank has played for a team that spends to the cap every year and has tried to ice a team that can win the cup. Yeah, they haven't quite got there, and you can question some of the moves/decisions made in the makeup of the team, but people sitting there and sayihg that Hank is only one that cares and its not fair etc are completely out to lunch IMO.

Why dont they feel sorry for staal? Hes been with team as long as Hank, and sure he doesn't have his skill, but he's suffered a brain injury and almost lost an eye for the team yet he still goes out every shift and battles. Why doesnt he 'deserve' it?

I think easily he would get 9-10 from a team like Edmonton desperate for goaltending.

Ok. Here's a little brain tickler for the salary difference.

Rangers over the last decade with Quick as the goalie.

Could have signed another Kotalik with the savings. Or a Brashear and a Glass.

Quick can be average, and the Kings would still be really good.

Lundqvist has to stand on his head and on some nights it's still not enough.

This is the kind of team Lundqvist needs to be on. I wish the Rangers were that.

I love 'what ifs', especially for the Rangers (what if Blackburn was developing as expected when Hank was ready to come over?) and it annoys me you can never know.
Would we have hung around the 8th seed with Quick, would he have got hot at the right time and led us to a cup? Would we have picked top 5 a few times and have an up and coming young team?

yeah, stepan is tolerable. Boyle is done after this season. They're gonna have to find a way to unload those trio. Waste of roster space.

He's been the best player at his position for past decade, and rarely gets help from his team.
