  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server

This. There's a few kids in the top 6-7 range I'd love to see the Ducks nab but 2023 was a special exception. The season was already shot, the talent at the top was can't miss, and there weren't as many kids in active NHL development.

We're at a point now where a little under half the active lineup is part of the team's work in progress youth core with a number of them who would be considered top prospects leaguewide if they were still in juniors, the AHL or Europe.

If it's between a 7th overall pick and a 10th or eleventh pick, I'd really rather see the team doing whatever they can to use the remaining time wisely to have something to build on next season. The only real benefit I see to losing right now is it might move us closer to firing Cronin and Clune (god willing), but that should happen regardless.
Agree to the last paragraph, at least with respect to finishing strong. I sort of have a feeling whoever we take at, say, pick 9 or 10, would be the same player we take at 5 or 6.

That certainly could happen. Like if Madden and co are set on Desnoyers or McQueen at #6 and he's there at #9 they still get their guy.

Cronins PP solution is just shoot more and go to the net? No formation changes. No system changes. No added movement. Just shoot. Geez I can be a NHL coach at this point and I really don’t know shit about Hockey.

Just posted this in the coaching thread and said almost exactly the same thing. He’s a joke.

That screenshot of Leo with the puck and no one is by the net is basically the issue in a nutshell. Was posted in the coaching thread I believe.

Was that the same wide shot where Mac was chillin on the half wall (any further back and he'd be in the crowd) with two guys on the goal line and the other two guys so far back at the blue line that they weren't even in the frame?

We've been hearing about "simple solutions" from Cronin for his entire tenure. If he were just telling them to shoot the puck from anywhere, they'd be listening. The message (whatever it is) isn't getting through, and that means it's time for a change at the top.

I just don’t want to see anyone get hurt. And I want Cronin gone. So I don’t need nor want meaningless points down the stretch. We can play well and lose and that’s fine by me.
