Larkin is a top tier 2c or low end 1c with a long term contract. I'd love to get him but the price would be massive.

Seven potential destinations for Larkin?

1 - Home after the game.
2 - The practice rink on a non-game day.
3 - Little Caesars Arena on game days.
4 - A coffee shop somewhere between home and the rink.
5 - The DRW team charter.
6 - The DRW team hotel accommodations while on the road.
7 - His parents' house for the holidays.

Please not, none of those is a trade.

Team charter??? What kind of poverty franchise doesn't own their own plane?

If he was moved, it would likely be Dallas for a package that would include Wyatt Johnson and Bichsel as the two centerpieces. Likely add more as well. There’d be another Grade A piece at least.

Larkin is signed and in his prime.

I doubt he’s moved but they would certainly get a piece like Johnson, who can come in and play tomorrow, in Larkin’s spot. Especially being that trading Larkin wouldn’t go over well initially. Then multiple other Grade A pieces.

Dallas would be the heavy favorite though.

These are some brutal offers. Larkin has been PPG over the past 3 seasons, scoring 30 goals in each of them. And that’s on some really not good teams. We are talking blue chip prospect, another high end prospect, good roster player, a first and then probably some other pick or prospect too. Otherwise there is ZERO incentive for the red wings to trade him. This is a trade you make to really get your team over the hump and if it wins you a chip it’s worth losing that much, and you’d really need to sell it to Detroit. He’s signed on a good deal for 8 years. Sometimes I really think a lot of the people on this site don’t watch the NHL.

Mittelstadt + Gulyayev and/or Ritchie and 1st 2026
This is one of the packages I suggested at the end of the article, seems close but I don't think Wings fans would be thrilled. They would want Ritchie over Gulyayev I assume.

Dallas was my top destination for Larkin or the first team on my list too, with those names mentioned among others.
