Prospect Info: 6th Overall Pick: Pavel Zacha

I didn't. I kept taking them out and VBulletin kept putting them back in!
 
Had an inconsistent year with Sarnia but battled through injuries and suspensions.

I'm thrilled with this pick for us. Zacha is the type of prospect we have sorely lacked in our system. Will need to work on his faceoffs but he could be a legit #1 centre on the team.

With Belleville moving to Hamilton this year, I will be seeing more OHL games than usual. I will definitely watch Zacha when Sarnia comes to town.

I think he gets a good look in camp but ultimately gets sent back to Sarnia in the hopes that he dominates next year both in the OHL and in the WJC's.

Definitely :)

I also think his defensive game is underrated. I've read up on him a lot and they mentioned it during the draft but this kid went head to head against McDavid and by all accounts shut him down better than anyone else McD played against.

McD still had 6 points in 5 games against Sarnia but I think that showed the scouts that he can be a good two-way player, something you have to be if you want to see icetime with us.

Excited for what Shero, Conte and company have in store for us in round 2!

You make a good observation about his two-way play. I forgot that he shut down McDavid like that. That's pretty impressive.
 
Bit late to the party, but I'm so excited about this pick. It seemingly was a hard pick to mess up, but Zacha definitely has the skill we desperately lack. I'm probably most excited about the fact that Zacha seems genuinely thrilled to be with us, always a great sign IMO.

Excited to see how he progresses next year, hopefully he plays with Sarnia again but he'll probably get a fair shot in training camp.

I hope we DO NOT rush this kid. Let him be the man in Albany for a bit when he's done with Sarnia.
