Nick Schmaltz with a dirty interference penalty trailing 4-1 late. UND gets a shortie to make it 4-2 thanks to the goalie mishandling the puck.

Do the Hawks plan on signing Nick Mattson from North Dakota? He's a senior so that was his last game.

No clue. Most of the stuff I've heard at him projected him as an AHLer at most. I'd probably more expect the Hogs to sign him.

I wonder if this means they are in NA for good or whether they go back for another year. Also wonder where Press is. He supposedly came over with those guys

Dahlstrom will be back in Sweden next year (unless he makes the NHL squad). Only have a Swedish link. Don't know about the others.

Dahlstrom and Press are under contract in Sweden, so they will play where their Swedish teams wants them to play (unless it's in the NHL)*.Norell is currently unsigned for next season.

*As per the current transfer agreement the Swedish (European?) teams get to decide where a player get's to play if that player is under 22, under contract in Europe and not drafted in the 1st round.... unless he makes the NHL of course.

How did Nick and Kuc look? anybody watch the games. Nick -1 and Luc -2?

Schmaltz was the best player on the ice for ND IMO but I was switching back and forth with the Hawks game. He is an elite PP player, magic happens with the puck on his stick.

Johnson was fine. Didn't notice him alot.

Snug looked fitting on the powerplay and was on the ice, but idk if he did anything for that goal to make it 1-2 at the time.

He also got bumped around near and behind the net a bit by Providence. He kinda spurred by two passes on 2 of the goals though trying to attack the puck carrier. But his team got controlled and pressuring the whole game.

Snuggerud didn't play well. He's a finesse PMD and Providence bullied him, IMO. Team played terrible.

He didn't seem that noticeable to me, but it was in a game where his team was dominated. Not being very noticeable might very well be a compliment in a game like that.

I actually thought Johnson was fantastic, his line dominated the second period despite not scoring and he won a lot of face offs and battles.

Schmaltz is insanely talented, has elite patience and hands. As long as his strength develops and he raises his GAS level I see no reason he doesn't become a Gaudreau/Eberle type player, all the tools are there. His penalty however was an incredibly dirty play, would definitely be suspended in the NHL for that.

But what are the odds!?

Well Keith was in the top 100 of popular baby names in the US during the 80s... don't know how popular it was in Canada, perhaps even more common so it's got a less crazy odds than a total outrageously uncommon name.

But the odds have to also include the fact that Seabrook's partner on the Hawks is named Keith making it even less likely.

To those who know: I'm in a mock draft with the #31 pick for the Hawks... who would you rather have: Fischer, Novak, Greenway or Bracco?

I'm certainly no expert, but I like Greenway and Bracco of that group. Those two are very different so it's tough to compare. I'd want Bracco personally.
