Passing up Kopitar for Skille was way worse.

Not at all, at least Tallon saved face with that pick for the Hawks by offering up a good lower line cog in Frolik.

I actually used to remember already feeling bad about Beach over Myers, yeah well there are several ways that could of gone... but Tallon needed that power forward force to protect Kaner and Toews eh. Outside of top 3 picks, Tallon isn't very good at drafting it seems, but he gets those most critical ones right.

Toews followed up by Kopitar. Wow that would have been dirty.
Consider this. If Toews and Kane didnt appear in their rookie year, the Hawks would be in line to draft #1... Stamkos.

Actually Im glad it didnt happen. Couldnt afford to keep him anyways and some things were not meant to be. Im fine with how things worked out.

Yeah, five WCF appearances, three Cups & counting, countless other hardware and organization-resurrecting from the dead later, I'd say it all worked out quite well.

So, uh, are the Blackhawks gonna tour the Cup at Rockford & Indy next season? I'd make the trip to see the replica of Lord Stanley's modified 50 guinea investment at the Coliseum.

That's an interesting legal caveat. Also probably something his inner circle should've known before they started the whole process, too (especially with the apparent precedent of a Serbian soccer player being unable to play in Switzerland as he also lacked a year of professional experience).

Technically Schmaltz may be higher but when you're still a year or 2 away from the NHL you get that mysterious, he has a lot of potential to develop into more hype.
