the Carolina loss means this is a must win situation.

That loss is going to haunt this team.

Tied with Clb, they have a game in hand.

a point ahead of Philly, they have 2 in hand.

today's game is SO needed.
 
I have a surprisingly good feeling about this one. The Rangers seem to get up for games like this, add home ice, and add SJ being on a long road trip where they've been scratching and clawing recently to get win, I can see us beating them.
 
Fun Fact of the Day-Thornton has more assists then our leading scorer has total points :laugh:

I am not going to predict anything (NYR waaaay too unpredictable) except both teams, the referees and the fans will all be in attendance.

LGR and enjoy the game everyone.
 
They have an impressive record we need to improve ours ASAP sorry Sharks you're goin' down! LGR!!

Fans don't seem to worry much about it.

But this season Zucc and MSL have a combined of 44 goals and 108 points, on paper this should be a very dangerous line.

Everybody have played well on a line with Zucc, hopefully he can also help MSL.

The lack of size will always be an issue though...
 
I think this game will tell us A LOT about this team. Their rivals are winning left and right. They've played poorly in the last 3. SJ completely embarrassed them in the first game. Even if we lose this game like we did either game against the Blues, at least they would have pride. I just want to see effort. I think the Rangers are good enough where they shouldn't get blown out by anyone if they give a full effort (and this includes Lundqvist).

Funny the scoring never turns out like that. If we score 4 it will probably be D. Moore, Staal, Girardi and Pouliot or something. It's rare that our 3 top scorers all will score in the same game.

Yeah and it was ineffective last game. Very. Break it up.

AV should try MSL in different spots. Try him with Stepan and Kreider. Try him with Stepan and Nash. Just see if anything fits.

Try Kreider-Stepan-MSL

Nash-Stepan-MSL

Pouliot-Richards-MSL

Just try some different stuff. If he's gonna be ineffective we might as well use that time to figure out who he plays best with.
 
BTW, how about our luck? We play SJ in 2 of their hottest streaks of their season, meanwhile the first game we got them when we were getting used to AV's system and now we get them when we're playing poorly.
 
So we could be in trouble seeing as how we're so "soft".... Let's take it to these guys. Big game at home for us. Time to put the league on notice.
 
Every time I see our top-scorer's list I die a little inside. Im not sure about the rest of the league, does anyone know if any other team's top scorer has less than 46 points? Maybe Florida or Phoenix?
