This non-stop shots on goal approach is not working.

We are out shooting them 2:1 and the quality scoring chances are equal if not in favor of San Jose.

Of our ~ 18-20 shots on goal, we have TWO quality chances I can recall (the pass to MZA in the slot from MSL, and Brassard). It's been text book defense by San Jose. Sam and Joe are talking about how we have them pinned in, but outside of those TWO chances, San Jose has kept everything to the outside.

In the Shark's few attempts in the Rangers zone, they're generating more quality scoring chances than our extended stays in their zone.

Good shots on goal > Lots and lots of shots.

love how my stream keeps breaking up mid-game, yet when the commercials come on it's ****ing PERFECT.

It really angers me that year in and year out, I just have to be happy if the Rangers put up an effort against these teams. Can't ****ing beat them.

How is anyone mad at Hank right now?

Because they're shocked that we're peppering Niemi with tons of shots from the outside and can't score.

The Sharks have higher quality scoring chances (multiple rebounds on the PK, breakaway to a star player on the PK, Marleau with a shot from the slot, wonky deflection almost going in upstairs).

Rangers are just passing around the perimeter in the Sharks zone for the vast majority of the period and continue to lob perimeter shots at him.

No shock we are losing.

Nobody is mad, just disappointed.

He used to be the guy to bail our team out. He used to be the guy to make the huge save when the defense blew coverage.

Now, if there's ever a breakaway, you know it's going in the net. He's supposed to be our best player.

Exactly. It's really disheartening to see.

Just can't make the big saves to bail the team out when they need it. Oh well. No clue what Richards was doing, though.

What about the 6 saves before that breakaway where he bailed them out? Funny how no one remembers those because they were saves and not goals.
