Everyone was clamoring for AV to be shitcanned and for good reason. He eventually lost the lockerroom in New York just like in Montreal and Vancouver before then. Him having a good first year in Philly is like the least surprising thing ever, but it has nothing to do with the decision to yeet him out of New York.

As a New York sports fan, I am sick and tired of this “needing to respect so called legends”.

It’s absolutely pathetic to watch washed up athletes cost their teams games and seasons, while fans pine for the glory days, and seem to be okay with their “hero” looking awful.

Let's face it Quinn knew he was putting this team in an impossible situation with starting Hank. I'm not sure if he still made the right move as Georgiev would be on fumes, but we basically forfeited this game.
Maybe he was hoping the team would rally around Hank. That’s what I was hoping. I figured he’d look like shit. Even at his peak he always looked like shit after layoffs and took a while to get into his rhythm. Now he’s past his prime and coming off a crazy long layoff I knew he was going to be bad. The hope was that the team would play tight and smart and limit chances.

Instead they came out and took a penalty immediately. Have given up 3 PP goals and a short handed goal and have looked worse than they have at all since the All Star break. So Hank doesn’t look good at all but the team in front of him looks atrocious as well.

Losing Your top goalie and Kreider killed. Next year the future looks great. That being said you can't go into the season with Hank or Staal on this team. They gave us everything they had and were great Rangers but it's over. Buy them out and move on

Kind of wish Buch was the one with the broken rib & Shesty the one that got banged up.There was a confidence to this team with Shesty in net & the kid was as cool as a cucumber even when he would let one in.

Who is ok with Hank looking awful today?

Everyone in this thread seems to be pissed, sad, angry, or disappointed about it.

well when Lemieux tries to fight this board calls his stupid

He should just jump a guy to get the fans attention. Should have started a fight when it was 2-0 Flyers. At 4-0 he is waistng energy. Guys like him should know when to fight to change momentum of the game, yea at 4-0 would have done that, too little too late. Should have done that earlier in the game. Lemmy should know better. He isn't a rookie.

The first year is great everywhere he goes.

It’s ok to call AV an actual very good coach while also acknowledging it was time for him to move on in NY. He’s good with veteran teams that need to be turned into competitors. He’s very good on that count.
