I would like to concentrate on 1 big line for the moment with whoever that have the heart, the effort and the momentum - and score a couple of goals - then we could go back to 4 mediocre lines.

The problem for the Rangers is that they manage to keep the puck in the opponent's zone but don't generate top notch scoring opportunities. As has been the case recently, the Rangers dominate but the other team gets the best opportunity of the period and capitalizes.

And it never seems like anything they do is clean. Any takeaway usually results in a bouncing puck. A pass somehow gets tipped, allowing a defenseman to slide over and disrupt the shot. Everything is just a split second slow.

Could someone sum up the firt period ? Whos good and what happened on the review ? Why are we down..ffs

Goal wasnt awful, you wish Hank could save that cause we are used to him doing that in previous seasons. Only the Rasks of the league make saves on that if they are hot.

It was a rocket, a laser, a laser rocket that was tipped, and then deflected. It was point blank and bang bang and partially screened. Therefore, you have to tip your cap and give credit or place blame but whatever you do don't blame Hank!

Now grab your ankles, seasons lost with this guy...,

Maybe the shot was not an easy one, but our goalie is the best goalie in the world with a huge contract. So I expect him to be able to stop some hard shots at a critical point of the game. If he can't, what's is the point of having him and his contract?

Nevesis is one of the more biased posters around here. He's the anti snowblind. He often at least uses actual hockey knowledge and reasoning to support his stance but the points he makes, while sound, are often emphasized too much. Too much importance is placed on things like "Oh the guy is open in the slot" as a way to completely 100% excuse Hank for failing to make the big save. Many fans are too stupid to even acknowledge that yes it is probably more the D's fault for leaving Hank out to dry but that doesn't mean he should be absolutely absolved of blame which nevesis always does. And anyone who doesn't absolve Hank completely is accused by nevesis of not understanding hockey (fitting into a self aggrandizing agenda that HE is alone or among a select chosen few around here who know TRUE hockey

He ups the team's good-looks quotient.

Agreed. Even when they make a great play and get a guy wide open it seems that the pass is slightly off and the player has to take a moment to tee up a shot. Our best opportunity in that period was Pouliot's minor breakaway but even that looked like he had a bit of trouble with the pass and ended up shooting the puck off the heel of his stick.

First of all, his 8.5m contract doesn't kick in until next season. He makes 5.1 this year.

Second, every goalie in the league has bad seasons. Roy had a couple .906% seasons. Hasek had some .909% seasons. Brodeur had some .906% seasons.

Has he been as good as he has been throughout his career? Definitely not. He definitely doesn't deserve near the amount of blame he receives on these boards. He was back to his usual self for the last 2 months leading up to the break and he will get back up there again.

Oh, so he's playing like a 5M goalie now and will change his play accordingly next year? Good to know. Glad you cleared that up.
