I've re-watched that one and I'm not sure why Tortorella is going nuclear on Brink. Brink started as the high guy on the other side. Lycksell drifted aimlessly when he was closer; both defense got sucked to the far post. I guess he could've gotten there with more urgency but play already broke down and it would've required him to make a high level play bailing out the others.

I guess he could've gotten there slightly quicker but play already broke down and it would've required him to make a high level play.
Maybe he’s mad at the extremely lazy closeout? That’s all I can think. Cause what happened on the wraparound certainly isn’t on him.

Someone had to be blamed and he was the youngest one on the ice, which is Tortorella's number 1 criteria

on the caps broadcast, there is no explanation for the goal, and no footage of any screaming.

now I have watched a few replays, there is some scrambly going on. should brink have gone lower to prevent the wrap-around? probably, as non-one else could have defended the great chance. but his linemates made it a horrible scramble. who knows if that is a normal move in the Flyers defensive posture.

I would expect some vets to stand up for Brink. That 2nd period was just a slow burn for Torts, decent play but still 3 goals against.

Torts getting emotional on a youngster when the entire team took a shit that period. Keep your shit together, you're supposed to be the adult
we'll see what happens. overall, Torts has been effective...and good for this squad.

This post aged well
yeah, it kinda went sideways. somehow still in control but losing just a few more important puck battles which BOOM went in the net,

did they really do that? simpleton MFs if so...but it is TV, and TV demands immediate explanations!!!!

I expect the coach to be more intelligent, and to appreciate Brink is far from being the most responsible Flyer for that one.
