WTF is wrong with Fast?

I love Fast. Great character player. He just doesnt have the raw talent to be a first line player. Being misutilized in the top 6. He should be a 3rd line player who can contribute offensively, kill important penalties, be on the ice for key matchups, etc.

But expecting him to look like a first or second line player isnt reasonable.

That was actually f***ing Hilarious. Staal takes the shot and it ricochets to an Av before Chytil recovers it but Staal just turned around 180 degrees and starting a track meet all the way into the neutral zone as soon as he shot that puck.

lol at all the Fast hate because he whiffed on one, and another bounced over his stick.

Never change HFNYR.

He isn't a skill-first guy. He's going to miss those chances a little more often than not; he also seems to create them more often than the rest of our team.
Its not just that. He cant pass to save his life. He's a great 3rd/4th liner. That's all though

Win, lose or overtime loss, the brand of hockey is encouraging and puts butts in seats

He's one of the best bottom 6ers in the league. Does not belong near the top 6.

Doesn't mean he's bad, just not his role.

I don't get the whole "yeah they're scratching a bunch of guys but why not THESE guys" like there aren't multiple reasons you could scratch someone (effort, matchup, health, line fit) and multiple reasons you could keep playing someone underperforming (good metrics, mild injury/illness, low confidence guy you don't want to "lose", showcasing, team "needs" this particular guy to get going)

I actually sorta LIKE that ADA has been scratched and not just given token games because he's 22 or 23. It's a really clear sign he's doing something wrong.

Not to be Negative Nadia here but this 19-7 SOG 1-0 NYR lead has the unmistakable feel of a power play goal against in the 2nd period followed up a 2-2 tie at the end of the 2nd, and a 3-2 deficit within the first 10 minutes of the third and a 4-2 ENG.

Besides the first 2 mins, that was a fun period. Way more urgency. Smith picked it up a notch for sure

He's an elite 3rd liner, and has proven himself to be an effective puck retriever in the top6.

I do wish that we'd use him as a 3rd liner though, instead of putting him with highly skilled guys. Most of his points are from creating opportunites by being relentless on the puck; Kreider-ZBad tend to play more off the rush.

Pair him with other guys that want to start their offense by dumping/hounding (cough Howden cough).
