I'm starting to get a little concerned about him between his poor play late last season, and early this year. I'd to like to see him hit his stride soon...

noted line juggler going back to his days with the Lightning, with whom he won a Stanley Cup in 2004, Tortorella did not break up his top line yesterday, but did do some more mixing and matching below it. Most notably, he put speedy winger Carl Hagelin alongside center Derek Stepan and captain Ryan Callahan, making what is certainly a defensively responsible unit, but one that needs to produce offense if the Rangers are able to find that needed scoring boost.

We'll see how long it'll stay that way, though. If they fall behind, I can see the line juggling begin in the 2nd period already.

If the Gaborik-Richards-Nash-Del Zotto-Staal unit is going to score you 2-3 goals a game, you really can't split them up. Once again, the '94 Rangers rode Graves-Messier-Kovalev-Leetch-Zubov to a Cup. I think Kreider getting back into this lineup and playing with the explosiveness he showed in the playoffs last year is important for this team.

As far as tonight... Nash breaks out. Prof. Universe typically doesn't put strings of great efforts together. 5-2 Rangers.

Nash x2
Gaborik
Callahan (PP)
Stralman

i know. i saw that which is why i was referring to it lol. i should've referenced it-- still not something i don't want to see though, i'm sure hags will help out with the line's speed problems, but def want to see him with nash. he played so much better when he had gaborik's skill on his line-- BUT i'd rather see gaborik with richards because of his shot. we'll see. i'm hoping for the kid, he had a lot of promise. hag's speed could be just what he needs to boost his performance.

i think we're going to win this. a blowout division win would cement our attitudes going forward, doo ittttt!

Rangers win 4-2.

Nash seemed tired last week in Philly. Tonight he'll want to show off. I expect a couple turn around type moves resulting in a goal or two.

Nash
Gaborik
Callahan
Hagelin empty netter

0-4 on the PP, including 1:32 of 5-3 time without a shot.

“@AGrossRecord: Henrik Lundqvist is the only goalie on the ice at #NYR optional skate. That would seem to indicate Marty Biron tonight. But not confirmed.”

Thought they should've started Marty against Toronto, but at least this gives Hank 4 days off and 7 out of 10 days rest.

“@AGrossRecord: And this is why quick tweeting sucks: Marty Biron now on the ice at #NYR optional skate. So both goalies out. Could still be Hank tonight.”
