I have some faith in Legace. He's played in the NHL before, including last year. So he has NHL experience. For one game against a poor team, he will do ok. Playoffs I would be more afraid.

So if they get a regulation win they’re guaranteed first place regardless of what Washington does?

no...if the Caps win both of their remaining two games in regulation, then the Caps would take first...

btw, today’s game against the Flyers for the Caps is the most crucial...if they win it in regulation, they set up Boston to decide the outcome of the division on Tuesday. If Boston prefers to play the Pens round one , then they’ll just let the Caps win in regulation...I don’t like leaving everything for the last game because if we and the Caps win in regulation today, then Boston won’t have much to play for and will be in complete control

Seems to me the Pens arent too concerned with playing Boston in the first round since theyre resting players. I'm not petrified of Boston like some on here but acknowledge they are probably our worst match up. I hope this doesnt backfire on us.

Since the thread theme is kinda naked/muscles....

I'm going for a full day of fasting today with only drinking my coffee now with milk... it may be sugar free coconut milk im not sure... and detox tea... and the obvious water...

Anyone who works out does this ever? I'm doing it once every month... I like it but have trouble sleeping on empty stomach...

When anyone buys anything with the word “detox” on it........

lafferty is a fine 13th forward to start next year. I’d rather give a kid a chance and fall back on him to start than sigh another sceviour type
I wouldn’t mind Gaudreau brought back along with Blueger re-signed. Definitely want to see some of the kids tho (Bellerive?)
As of now, with no additional signings except the two listed above or players lost to trade or expansion, next year’s depth chart would look like...

Guentzel Crosby Rust
Zucker Malkin Kapanen
McCann Carter Gaudreau
Zohorna Blueger Tanev
Lafferty Angello

Zucker's gone. The money for Marino's skyrocketing cap hit, Blueger's deal etc... has to come from somewhere. They're not gonna move mountains to keep him.

All the guys who go UFA or RFA were all small cap hits and offer almost no relief.

With Washington’s loss last night, Boston now control their own fate for the 2nd seed and could still take first if we lose tonight.

Boston and Washington would be playing for home ice if they keep winning.

I don’t understand sitting the two goalies. The Pens need a win here. Avoiding BOS is huge in my opinion. But then again, you will need to face the good teams anyway so it doesn’t really matter.

Maybe they both have injury concerns. Do you want potentially both goalies out game 1 of the playoffs? We don’t have Zatkoff anymore

Jarry has a upper body injury and Pens can win with Legace. What they need is the Caps to go to overtime and Pens are in. I like Lafferty as his upside of speed and grit and has decent shot can be developed and be a decent winger.

Well Casey's hurt for sure. He wasn't even backing up lately. Something was nagging Jarry not long ago so maybe this is wise.

We should trust Sullivan's judgment more. In all honesty he should be right up there for the Jack Adams. Not sure even his haters on this board can deny that, given what the Pens have accomplished this year with their injuries, in this division.
