I mentioned it, was one of those games where early you knew they were getting shutout. You could tell in the first period they were going to lose this game.
I rather hear FINALLY the power play has come back to Philadelphia.Stone Cold John Tortorella...that's the bottom line cause culture champ says so
Well at least one person in the family scores.I just read that Johnson is the nephew of a politician from Wisconsin who has 9 kids.
Evidently Hilferty thinks that there’s enough interest to raise ticket prices. The organization is totally tone deaf. This was on at a bar tonight. Someone at the table said, "Oh the Flyers still play?" No one watches anymore. I can't help but wonder who the hell is watching these games besides hardcores.
I miss those days tooI miss those days when @DancingPanther would post the GIF of the guy sledding down a dune on a piece of cardboard after a win. Not really all that long ago, but it seems like it.
Could just change the text to "loss" and start again.I miss those days too
One of those games. Totally dominated the 1st period until the last couple minutes, but couldn't score. Michkov missed an open net.
Then boom, boom, boom in the 2nd period, one off an odd man rush, two lucky bounces. Ersson tried to keep them in the game, but once he was pulled, after Michkov failed to clear the puck and NJ scored again, the team sagged.
Too many bad penalties against a team with a top PP, not a very disciplined game.
Not a big deal, this is what rebuilding looks like, if it was a tank, they'd be outshot 40-15 and xGF 35%.
Now if Colorado can stumble after the Rantanen trade, we can two picks in the teens.
They have to really get to know him first, and that's why they will go off consensus pick.At least we'll be looking at a sweet 3rd line center at the 12th pick in this draft.
He reacted late, lunged for it and missed.Michkov didn't even control the puck, though, how did he fail to clear it?

Game of inches at times, certainly this game. Bounces off skates and sticks in front of the net.
Michkov will be a star in a couple of seasons, right now, like most of the team, he's a work in progress.
Which is why I'm patient, they're in these games, sometimes things cascade, but it wasn't like a couple seasons ago when they were routinely outplayed.
Well, over time FO% is pretty stable, each one is an event, but enough events become a population. You wanted to say game of milliseconds? I mean why don't you say the same about FO guys? When a player loses a FO, in most cases you can easily say "he reacted late and failed to clear the puck"...
PP goals don't count.I concede the PP may not go 4/4
He didn't react late. He tried to swipe it out and made a good effort. His mistake was his positioning at the point. The biggest issue on that goal is that Frost fell. What you saw last night was a more determined Devils team who got sick of playing against a conservative tight checking team and ramped it up. Flyers have been playing with playoff intensity while the Devils weren't in previous games. Devils decided enough was enoughHe reacted late, lunged for it and missed.

I thought Tortorella didn't believe in tablet technology on the bench?Seelers blocked a ton of shots, Michkov limited ice time due to not being a checker/grinder and not fighting Dillon for a clean hit. 1Cates played 14 minutes so far, the authentics want him signed for 8 years 5 mil. That makes the game at least 5-4, help me out here.
Edit : Torts trying to force the ref to look at the tablet, saying the clean hit on Tippett was interference. 5-5, you can sleep!
I respect your opinion on Michkov, you obviously see something, but I don't. He is small and really not a very good skater; his shot is not accurate, and I see nothing in the way of stick handling abilityHe reacted late, lunged for it and missed.

The Flyers brass have likely commissioned a statue of him....that will then be placed, in perpetuity, at the top of the Art Museum steps.Of the few stone cold locks, Torts will NEVER be fired. Ever.
I feel your pain! I completely believe that the extensions were needed for you. I used to watch Ice Road Truckers way back when. Gotta have some thick ass ice to be driving those rigs.Where I’m from , you needed extensions for your augers, so manual was for early season lol
I also have memories of dad and I with a manual auger.
Let's not kid ourselves, Torts is preoccupied with playing Candy Crush on that tablet.I thought Tortorella didn't believe in tablet technology on the bench?
He's stout and will fill out, he has no problem playing in dirty areas, though more strength will help him anchor. Needs to work on his skating this summer, but some of this may come with physical maturity, especially adding lower body strength.I respect your opinion on Michkov, you obviously see something, but I don't. He is small and really not a very good skater; his shot is not accurate, and I see nothing in the way of stick handling ability
Anything to stick trouble on Michkov in order to justify the disgusting way that Tortorella has "developed" him this season. Rookies, like all players, make mistakes on the ice. A good coach turns them into learning experiences. Bad coaches turn them into benchings.Michkov didn't even control the puck, though, how did he fail to clear it?
