Currently tied for 6th in scoring and is the youngest guy in top 30 for scoring. Is one of 2 in the top 50 at 21 or under. At 30 points he has also just passed his point production from last season in 22 less games. Buch is having a heck of a season.

guys in this thread downplaying the level of KHL are beyond laughable. still much much worse than NHL, but even the worst teams are on par with SHL/Liiga champs.
I'm personally far more concerned about ASP doing that good in SHL than Buch in KHL.

Why do you say he is not in the top 50. That's not true. He is in the top 10 and was 6th when the article was written

Soderblom sucks. He's never making the NHL. The rest I agree with, and I'd give a darkhorse shot to another defensemen like Toumisto or Buium.
Buchelnikov I can't tell enough people. He's never going to play a game in the AHL/ECHL.(outside of conditioning) He'll play in Russia and legitimately make more money. You'd do the same exact thing if you were Russian. You'd do it now as an American. (Play in Russia for double, or more)
I just can't understand why people think Buch would want come play hockey for less money which is what you are asking him to do when you send him or any Russian in the AHL, it's why there's like NONE if you look around the AHL.

How much does KHL players makes , particularly Buchelnikov? Do you have a link?
I could be wrong , but I believe every hockey player wants to play in NHL and if you are not good enough you stay in AHL or play in Europe , money is not everything

They are right to a degree... and even so are you. Talent did leave the league, lots of good Euros play in Euro leagues vs putting up with the Russian situation currently. It's defintaely not as bad as some have suggested, but the talent leaving the KHL, did get absorbed by other Euro leagues strengthening them. Specifically, SHL/Liigga/DEL. All got a lot stronger in just the last 4 years, even financially. A hot rising league is this Czech league... Swiss NL is a good life for players that get in, but they've got limits on import players. (6). Hard to sustain a career when you're constantly battling outside forces attempting to take your job.
SHL should be really proud, boys are getting money/paid, games good/entertaining, teams/league make money. Everything is lovely.

Russia is harder recently to figure out. I'm sure he's making six figures though. Almost sure of it, plus his housing, and in Euro teams pay there taxes first from salary so they get a straight salary(no taxes/teams pay them). Idk if it works like that in Russia. IDK Buches contract specifically but I can show you what teams spend and how that would translate back to a roster. I do know he just signed a new contract, which ment he likely got a raise, etc.

KHL has more money/teams than SHL. That league can throw some weight around still vs most Euro leagues. They'd of been better to bring in eastern Europe though vs whatever they did by adding the Chinese team that has no Chinese players. Lol. Expanding into the largest market in the world doesn't seem stupid either though.

Buchelnikov is signed with Vityaz until 2026, i think he's gonna stay there until that. But im a bit worried since he's been rockin rollin so far that after this season or next season, SKA or CSKA dumps truck full rubles on his yard. And reasons with him with how and why he should stay in Russia. Like "Panarin didn't leave until he was 24 and you're only 21/22, you stay home for couple more years. That way you avoid the bus league.... etc."

Barach , only 5'8" , Buchelnikov linemate had AHL experience and have great season so far, could help Buchelnikov transit in NA.

Yeah, lets take that figure and divide it out evenly among 25(rosterlimit) and it's 232,000 per year average. That's better than most leagues, and if you believe what I believe(Buch isn't making average) it's dumb to come over and play in the AHL for 75k or whatever plus taxes. It's a couple 100k a year on the table for a guy that's not rich and less wealth than me and you(most likely).
That's one of the weakest teams/franchises in the KHL too.

He'll come over if he's signed to the ELC with bonuses, etc. He'll make more money. He's not coming till he's basically insured an NHL roster spot though so, maybe that is 2026.

"most" have clauses that allow them to terminate a deal when they are ready to come to the NHL.
Michkov was a good example, doubt he falls to 7 if details of that 3-year KHL contract come out before the draft. All's everyone got to know is that it was for 3 years and from a KHL powerhouse.
