Chucky could gain a lot of fans if he got few points tonight.

you’re only gonna get so many dumb luck opportunities to play in the top-6, bud. Please.... do something.

Ughh...it just hit me. With all of our complaining about fans 'bronx cheering' and Geno comparing our fans to Philly we are gonna hear some extra chants tonight. Not just the Crosby sucks....I'm sure they'll toss in a Geno chant. Probably another reason Sully is going with Jarry is they'd probably Bronx cheer him all game which they probably will do to Jarry.

...us making this into an ordeal is going to carry over. Philly fans are probably relishing this.

I can't imagine the majority of fans attending the game have any clue about this situation. Hell, your average Pens fan probably doesn't either.

I know we have a ton of injuries but we do they need to punish Geno and force him to play with AG? Horny, Tanev, even ZAR would be much better options.

I don't know why people view this as a bad thing. If I was a player I can't imagine a better feeling than 18,000 chanting your name.

Might as well get Schultz an extra week of conditioning before throwing him back into the fire. Hopefully Bjugs is back by then, and Kahun's bell has been un-rung.

Hey, maybe GMJR can even pull off a trade and shoot Chucky into the sun?

McCann - Crosby - Simon
Trade - Malkin - Rust
Kahun - Bjugstad - Hornqvist
ZAR - Blueger - Tanev
Lafferty

Try the above until the TDL. If it works, great. If it doesn't, move Bjugs and bring back a LW to allow McCann to slide back down.

I rather see Kahun in the top 6. I still am not sold on that first line. Any line with Crosby will work though. Kahun has been playing at about the same PPG as McCann and actually better after his poor start of only 2 assists in his first 11 games.

It will be interesting how it plays out when Rutherford gets his winger. If it is an RW then I would do something like this.

McCann-Crosby-trade player
Kahun-Malkin-Rust
Simon-Bjugstad-Hornqvist
ZAR-Blueger-Tanev

If it is a LW I would put him on the Crosby line and bump McCann down to the 3rd LW.

It should be interesting how it plays out but it looks like the team will be all healthy or close to it coming out of break. Dumoulin will have had a full two months to heal and should be close. The hard part will be staying healthy at that point. Maybe the hockey gods will finely be satisfied.

Would love it if everyone stayed healthy those last 32 games after the break. Maybe Pens could also get lucky and Guentzel is on the low end of the healing process and it is 4 months of the 4 to 6 month range. Would love for Guentzel to come back for those last couple rounds or even more crazy the middle of the Caps round. I know wishful thinking but "I have a dream". Wait, last thing I would want is Guentzel coming back with that punk Wilson on the ice. We all know how he would introduce Guentzel back.

I wish they would play Murray so he can build some confidence off the 2/3 period play against Boston. But, who am I second guess Sully...he knows what the f*** he's doing. I just hope we destroy the Flyers!

When Bjugstad returns that will allow a slotting of the lines to a degree. Kahun back in January 31 game sets the LW line as to McCann, Kuhny, Reese and possibly Tanev. At this point going forward, GMJR knows he needs a top 6 forward and I prefer a RW like Smith if the cost is decent. Pens may not be the offensive power this year, but skating positioning and moving the puck by the D may be enough to compete is healthy.

This is a good problem to have both goalies playing well. I'm not even worried the slightest. Though they have tested our nerves.

I hope it works out and Jarry has a bounce back game. After 3 starts in a row of .800's save% he needs a good start. I guess Sullivan didn't want Jarry having more than a two week layoff. I guess it is also good to let Murray go into the break on a 5 game winning streak. Hopefully we kick the Flyers butts and everyone goes into the break feeling good.

I think @ownal may be correct. Sully has said it before, too. He feels we have a 1A/1B. This is so weird to me. I figured the way it went, was an attempt to get #30 back to #1. He delivered a freaking excellent 2nd/3rd period and you would want to run that high. Instead they must have committed to this flip/flop each game. That didn't work under #29/#30. Maybe it works here.

Called it two weeks ago. I'm happy to be a fan of a team where the coach thinks similar to a great mind such as mine =P

With this schedule coming in February / March the penguins would benefit enormously from rolling 50/50 with Jarry and Murray. What a luxury that is to be able to have a means to keep your goalie(s) fresh going into this part of the season.

We can only hope it works out and both goalies play top level. There is plenty of work to go around in these next two months where I wouldn't worry about much about rotating games among goal tenders.
Two things I can see being an issue is that Jarry is more apt in puck control / playing the puck where Murray is not quite the same style as ASJ so that may or may not affect the players in front of them. Two, one goalie is hot and just plays very well, but cools off due to the 50/50 game distribution and the penguins have to stick and ride one goalie again, like before when ASJ covered for MM.

Nothing wrong with issue two. Just that they risk exhaustion when it comes to the meat and potatoes part of the post season. ASJ never played a full NHL season, sooooooo there is that.

The Flyers have been playing quality hockey as of late, especially at home. I've watched quite a few of their games. They are in that typical weird mid-season form where they play well before they collapse again.

This post is so true and it brings a smile to my face. The collapse part I mean.

I'll be there.

You going to wear a penguins jersey and stand a cheer when the penguins score?
Bless your soul if you do.

When I lived in washington dc for 4 years and went to several pens caps games I never stood and cheered for the penguins. I just went as a spectator dressed in black and refused to cheer for either team each game I went to. I cheered for the pens on the inside. Self preservation kind of deal.

I'm not in the habit of going for a walk in the woods dressed as a deer during hunting season either.

Meh. I've been to plenty of games in DC. Caps fans aren't that bad. Never worried about wearing my Lemieux jersey in their barn.

Philly is a different story though. I would never wear my Lemiuex jersey there. Actually, come to think of it, I would just never go there.

Best of luck though to @Sorry though if he does attend tonight wearing the black and gold!

Yep. I agree on both accounts.

With DC I just got used to being comfortable with not sticking my neck out and risking my health for a hockey team. I did have to take the green line metro after games, and if you lived there you know all about the green line.

Philly, absolutely. Been to several games there and would NEVER cheer for any opposing team. Last thing I need is to have some drunkard throw batteries at my face or cold cock cheap shot me in the back of the head over a hockey game. Nope. No sir.
