Did he put Henrique back on the wing?

Looked good except last 5 minutes.

He had

Henrique centering Clowe/Ryder
Zajac centering Brunner/Olesz

For the first 14 minutes Brunner was invisible because he's on a line with two players with zero creativity and playmaking ability.

He then puts Brunner/Henrique together and...goal.

What's the solution?

Let's just put everything back the way it was.

Brilliant.

this feels like after the first period of the last game, happy to be up 1-0 but still way too many mistakes/breakdowns.

Is it just me or was there a nice roar after Henriques goal? Same thing in Edmonton too. Didn't know the Devils had a lot of fans in Western Canada.

Something Scott O'neil HAS to negotiate with MSG next go around is getting EVERY game in HD including for FiOs customers.

I have to watch in SD tonight

Same here. And I have Directv. I figured it had something to do with Canada being a 3rd world country.

I think over an extended period of time the players that deserve to play will earn that. So I'm optimistic that Josefson will earn playing time if he deserves it.

Probably either of them playing bad, which they arent.

Though I do think the nonstarting forwards should rotate rather than sitting and rotting.
Stephen Gionta:

4GP, 0G, 0A, 0Pts, -3, and an outstanding 28.6% face-off percentage (which actually makes him better than Henrique, who's been equally abysmal in that category).

Peter Harrold:

4GP, 0G, 0A, 0Pts, -2.

Neither player has been on the ice for a goal scored at even strength.

Now, there's no doubt that it's early on in the season and that other players haven't been playing up to par either, but if you're going to take someone out of the lineup, these two should be prime candidates.

As much as we kill Pete I think it takes a lot more than 4 games to earn a spot over guys who he trusts.

It's going to be a few more games, at least.

i find it amusing that Deboer would trust Gionta of all players to kill penalties. but like i said, what do i know? he's the super genius.

Not saying he's right in his assessment but Gionta was the starter last year. So as much as we all want him benched, he gets a leash. He produced last year in the midst of his suck.

It takes more than 4 preseason games to usurp a starter. Josefson is going to have to play better for a longer period of time.
