The worst part? There are no better alternatives.Strome, Haley, McKegg, Staal, current Kreider - dead weight.

When your defense is leaving seemingly every passing option open it makes it almost impossible to stay in control as a goalie, so much of the position is anticipation.Lundqvist seems to be over-committing a lot. Lost at sea many times.
Not in a million years would I have thought he’d have this kind of season — on a contract year no less. What the hell is this?Kreider @ 7x7?
Yea, thanks for the memories CK.
Yeah. He has been fine. He’s learning and seems to be maintaining confidence. Like Kakko and Howden and Fox and Lias. These guys all seem to be benefiting and improving every day. He’s made a bunch of good plays already, and if someone wasn’t laying on his stick he would have been able to clear that puck
Remember after a game last year when I said "something just doesn't look right with Kreider"?Not in a million years would I have thought he’d have this kind of season — on a contract year no less. What the hell is this?
Yeah I was a big Skjei supporter after 2017 but starting to realize his skating and decent size isn't good enough to overcome things like his IQ. Very frustrating. He's taken the opposite of normal development curve for defenseman. Started strong in his career (especially playoffs) now seems to be making no progress.
I don't know how a fan-base that watches Skjei every night thinks Kreider is a low IQ player.
How dare you use merit in the NHL?Let's just go full accountability and have a top6 of this for the rest of the game.
Panarin - Zibanejad - Buchnevich
Fast - Andersson - Kakko
I think he knows what his fate is and it’s affecting his play. He hasn’t been mopey like Zucc was last year but he’s certainly playing with less passion. Not in a million years would I have thought he’d have this kind of season — on a contract year no less. What the hell is this?
You meant physically or in his demeanor?Remember after a game last year when I said "something just doesn't look right with Kreider"?
Hasn't had a good game since.
Pavel Buchnetsov.Evgeny Kuznevich
I thought giving Names the boot meant we would keep CK — and that would help kick start him. Doesn’t look that way.I think he knows what his fate is and it’s affecting his play. He hasn’t been mopey like Zucc was last year but he’s certainly playing with less passion.

Kreider is also limited but he plays an extremely simple game (sometimes too much with his chest snipes) and knows how to use his size and speed effectively. That's why I never thought of him as a dumb player.Yeah I was a big Skjei supporter after 2017 but starting to realize his skating and decent size isn't good enough to overcome things like his IQ. Right now Quinn is trying very, very hard to be worse than AVQuinneault
