In terms of a long-term solution at 2C, I think they're better off being patient for Desnoyers, Frondell, or Hagens, then grabbing best youngish center available.
4th overall is likely the best chip a team wanting a 2C will have available, but teams don't move those guys. The best youngish C potentially to be available is probably Zegras or Petterson. Given Utah is just reaching the beginning of their contention window, I'd take your number 2 (if Martone goes top 4) or 3 rated C in a strong center draft and call it a day.
Butt and Iginla would offer plenty of scoring, grit, and beef on Hagens' wings. That would give them two smallish top 6 centers in size, but Cooley doesn't play small, and McBain is big in the 3C spot.
