What about Anaheim's Grant? I'm sure when all is said and done he'll be looking for another change in scenery.

Then who’s playing LW on the 4th line? Also, Lehkonen has been great on that line and is an effective PKer. I also believe at this point in their careers, Lehkonen is the more valuable asset

Martin Hanzal would be a good veteran pickup for a young Canadiens team. Wonder what Dallas would want for him.

Why not? Byron would take Lehk's spot KK's line.
Because depth of hard-working, two-way forwards is the main reason why we are successful this season. We should look to add to this depth. Also, Byron doesn't mesh well with Kotkaniemi, their style of play is different. And I expect Lehkonen to develop into a consistent 40+ points player.

Hanzal has a combined 12 points in 45 games over the last two years while making 4.75M a year through next season. He's only played 7 games this year and is on IR + he has a NTC. I don't see anything happening there.

I love Pageau but I think he’s wasted only playing 10-12 mins a game. While the Habs could afford the $3.1m cap hit, it might prevent them from going after the big fish this summer.

I’m wondering if Glendening is available. Nate Thompson is decent as well, but a RH centre would be ideal.

Speaking of Vegas, Ryan Carpenter could be a good fit. RH decent on draws, good wheels, and motor. He’s hurt right now but if he’s back, he’s a guy I’d look at.

If Pageau is aviable he is #1 on my list before Glendening. We could use him in all situations and we have enough cap space to have him at 3m

How is Thompson skating ?

Thompson is adequate, not a burner. He’s an effort guy. Bangs a bit. Ideal for a fourth line center that will primarily play a defensive role. Chips in occasionally with an odd goal. Face offs are good and can PK.

I really liked him when he was in Tampa. If his speed is ok he is a nice option. His he fast like Torrey Mitchell ?

I doubt Gallant wants to move his only RH guy who can play center.

Not much of a motor though.

Are you proposing we trade Tatar for Pageau?
