I would not trade a player from the top 10 forwards on the team as it’s counter productive. Picks, B prospects or Hudon/Deslauriers/Peca. That’s about it.

I wouldn't. But I would definitely consider Pageau for picks or prospects.

Lol, that would be tempting. I think an ideal 4th line for Habs does not include any of those players. They are decent depth guys though

Sounds like your ideal 4th line would be a 3rd line. Its not practical.

Because depth of hard-working, two-way forwards is the main reason why we are successful this season. We should look to add to this depth. Also, Byron doesn't mesh well with Kotkaniemi, their style of play is different. And I expect Lehkonen to develop into a consistent 40+ points player.

I would agree in that the Habs high octane style of play requires the 4th line contributing significantly so as not to run out of gas over 60 minutes

That's my ideal 4th line. The only way the Habs will win this year will be through depth, and we need guys we can trust to fill in on the top-9 in case of injuries.

Hanzal has a combined 12 points in 45 games over the last two years while making 4.75M a year through next season. He's only played 7 games this year and is on IR + he has a NTC. I don't see anything happening there.

I’m wondering if Glendening is available. Nate Thompson is decent as well, but a RH centre would be ideal.

Thompson is adequate, not a burner. He’s an effort guy. Bangs a bit. Ideal for a fourth line center that will primarily play a defensive role. Chips in occasionally with an odd goal. Face offs are good and can PK.

I really liked him when he was in Tampa. If his speed is ok he is a nice option. His he fast like Torrey Mitchell ?

I doubt Gallant wants to move his only RH guy who can play center.

I wouldn’t call him fast. Playing between Toffoli and Leipsic currently. He’s a fourth liner/pker.
