The one thing I do really love about the Rangers board is that we are welcoming of opposing fans with differing viewpoints. We've had a number of great Islanders posters on here over the years and a few solid Devils posters.

God forbid you go over there, though, and you are an opposing fan? Man alive. Just nasty hatred. It's a different fanbase and one that I'm proud not to be a part of.

I've said that for years. Devils fans hate us more than they like the Devils. I think it's painfully obvious. The thing that is even more fun is that they are not even our main rival. It's the Islanders. They are just secondary.

With the Islanders being good now, that will only get worse for them.

Their slow fade into mediocrity suits their fanbase. I think it's hysterical.

I agree. Being in the shadow of NY will do that.


But don't forget, the Icelanders were inconsequential for a long long time. Devs have been relevant for 20 years.

Hoping Ottawa wins out not because Washington scares me, but I am seriously sick of seeing them, the sea of red, and that stupid ****ing horn.

Oh, for sure. But the Islanders had their hell of a run, too. Much like the Devils. The Devils lucked out with Brodeur turning out as well as he did. Without him, they win one Cup and are just a solid team for a while. I really don't think their fanbase even understands that. Getting a generational talent midway down in the 1st round is truly luck.

So it's going to be awesome to see their team just fester and rot over the next few years. Mediocre-bad prospect pool, no good drafting lately, Lou is lost when it comes to the cap, and all of their good players are about ready to retire. That along with any good player they develop leaves as a FA.

It's hysterical to watch. The most arrogant fanbase on the planet deserves nothing less.
