He has been better, but people need to start be more objective about it.
Talbot hasn't been the best goaltender in the NHL. Or close to it. He is 9-3 facing lower seeded teams (every back up does) and the team generally plays well.
The best team he faced was MTL, where he had one of the easiest shutouts I had ever seen, and wasn't even the #1 star because the shutout was that easy.
He followed that game up with a 17 save shutout against NSH, where the game was so easy, he wasn't even recognized as one of the three stars of the game.
He has faced much lower competition overall.
