Speed =/ Effort. Killorn is not fleet of foot, but he's a great forechecker and does have good puck skills. A good vet for an organization that has struggled to attract anybody. Maybe another victim of a bad team as well. I think he's been fine.

I couldn't disagree more. Killorn regularly does not skate hard enough. He is late to many plays, gives half-hearted attempts at receiving passes, and takes so long to shoot it's blocked 2/3rds of the time. His play in OT is atrocious and he has killed so many offensive plays. He is the definition of a player propped up by a few lucky plays. His play does not translate into effective team hockey.

Vets have experience that is invaluable to helping young players grow. Personally, I do not these young players to play like Killorn in any way. If that's the way this team should play, then the Ducks are not going in the right direction.

At 5v5, Killorn's defense is better than his offense. He is the best defensive forward that we have and does it at a high level. (See Player Card stats I have provided in previous posts.) His offense and Carlsson's offense aren't on the same wavelength. Mac is the only non-finesse youth forward we have, but looked good playing with Killorn. Both do a lot of little things that go unnoticed and not on the scoresheet. Killorn is past his prime, but he does carry a lot of experience with the grinding cycle game.

As for OT, Killorn shouldn't be out on OT b/c he lacks the speed. I dunno why Cronin does it, but that's not Killorn's fault. Cronin actually puts our d-men speedsters in LaCombe and Zell out on OT ice, which surprised the hell out of me. Maybe Cronin values Killorn's defense more, since Cronin is a defensive kind of guy.

Killorn is vastly overpaid, but we got cap space to burn. I think Killorn is a good 3rd pairing winger. On a bad team, Killorn will be boosted into the top-6 role. Which is what his role is with us.

I found I don't dislike killorn when I remember at this point in his career he's a bottom six guy, when I was looking at him as a top 6, he wasn't living up to that, but as a bottom six he's just fine, the problem is Cronin deploys him as a top six.
