I didn't see him on pace for 40g at the half-way mark. I don't think he's gonna sustain this, but he's definitely made himself tradeable, which is all we need.

And that’s why I pay zero mind to dorks who try to discredit Sid’s secondary assists. They don’t watch the games, they watch the box score.

Quick play skate to stick, protect the puck, backhand tap pass to a defender stepping into the 1T for an assist.

A stat watcher (MJ) would look at the box score and say “oh a secondary assist, I bet he didn’t even affect the play”. But that was an absolute zinger of a play that created a beautiful goal.

And another absolutely wild secondary assist from Sid. Controlled the shift. Puck behind the net, retrieves it, makes a great pass back to Pettersson who feeds it to a wide open Rust.

2 assists there that would be totally overlooked by stat watchers as “meaningless secondsry assists” when anyone watching the game would see they’re top tier plays.

I think they keep him. He’s a better fit for Sid than Rust is. I think they want to remain somewhat competitive.
