The team was never that good and had a fluke season founded on hanks best year.

I don't understand how that play happened. before the Panthers player even got to the faceoff dot, I'm thinking to myself, what the hell are you two doing? Inside man John Moore needs to stay net front and through to support getting the puck out. That was Girardi's puck but he just slowly slowly approached it against a guy that can do just about anything when you give him the opportunity.

Girardi should be ashamed. Lazy play. He knew it was a big Barkov coming in and there's no way he doesn't get crunched in that situation if he plays the puck properly. Instead of that, he dodges out of the way by being indecisive and drifitng to the puck and then does EVERYTHING he can to stay out of Barkov's way by.... not protecting the puck with his body to move it along the boards to Moore on the other side. Instead, he stays out of the way and "pokes" at it.

Lazy lackluster play.

I think his D system is probably not that greatly suited for our D. Besides that Stepan and Nash have been ****. Lundqvist has been... He improved our PP greatly. McDonagh, Zucc, and Kreider all improved exponentially. However, when you lack any top players having your 2 best forwards disappear is a recipe for disaster.
