pretty fortunate to be down 1 with most of the top 6 not playing well and ada having prob his worst game of the season. skjei might be too but I dunno how to distinguish all the subtle varieties of bad play

If an 18 year old kid is struggling with confidence, you don't think it's the coaching staff's job to talk to him and get him to play with confidence every game regardless? That's their job to help him if he's down on himself for not performing.

It's all on the player at the end of the day, but I don't have confidence in this coaching staff top to bottom that they do this effectively. They can't do much of anything effectively from having a proper defensive structure, to getting them to come out ready to play night in night out.
 
I'm looking forward to seeing Rykov. He's 22 and don't think giving him a call up soon is rushing him but I doubt it happens.

Literally not even a top 10 gripe with this coaching staff. They’re so bad for so many worse reasons.

What Mangiapane just did to him seems to happen a lot. Doesn't have great balance so guys spin off him pretty easily, guys like Mangiapane who can turn on a dime he struggles covering.

I think it's time. Lindgren's had a few bad outings. Skjei looks like he needs to spend time at a mental health spa for a couple of weeks. Hajek will get some AHL games to condition himself.

It's time. It can't get any worse than what we're seeing, especially from Skjei. That better be dumbass coaching if he's still at it. He's played in the NHL before and wasn't this dumb.
 
Skjei and Staal seem to have real struggles keeping the puck in the zone when the puck comes toward them on the blue line without pressure.

All the old school uniforms look better. New Jersey's "Christmas" uniforms look terrific and much better than the red and black. The Oilers classic uniform is the best and the orange/royal blue one was fantastic too until they couldn't help themselves and turned the royal blue into an ugly dark blue (which looks TERRIBLE with orange). We need to bring back Hartford and Quebec uniforms too while we're at it.
